American Express is out with its latest Amex Offer, which could be very beneficial if you tend to purchase expensive airline tickets. This offer is targeted, so not all users will be able to add this to their cards.
The Offer
If the offer is available on your card, make sure to click Add to Card, as available offers are not automatically added.
To redeem this offer, you need to purchase $1,000 or more in airfare on International Airline Program partners via AmexTravel.com to receive a $300 statement credit back, however, there are several things you need to be aware of.
These are the airlines that you can purchase tickets for:
AeroMexico
Air France
Air New Zealand
ANA
Asiana Airlines
Austrian Airlines
British Airways
Brussels Airlines
Cathay Pacific
China Airlines
Delta
Emirates
Etihad
Finnair
Iberia Airlines
Japan Airlines
KLM
LATAM
Lufthansa
Qantas
Qatar Airways
Singapore Airlines
Swiss International Airlines
Virgin Atlantic
As you can see, most of these airlines are international, so using this offer for domestic tickets is going to be difficult unless you’re flying Delta, the one U.S.-based airline on the list. It’s very worthwhile to note that the offer is not valid for codeshare partners, so you can’t book on Qantas but have a flight operated by American Airlines.
Your trip must start and end in the U.S., so this offer is not good for one-way flights to an international destination, for example.
This offer is only valid for bookings in first class, business class, or premium economy, so you won’t be able to fly on a regular economy ticket and receive the credit. While it will be fairly easy to surpass $1,000 in spending with these higher classes of service, the offer is valid for up to 7 people on 1 itinerary (though you only receive the credit once).
You must book with AmexTravel.com by July 20, 2022, to receive the credit; bookings done directly with an airline won’t count, though when you book through AmexTravel.com, you’ll receive a normal airline ticket and will still have most of the same flexibility had you booked it directly with the airline. You can also receive the credit if you combine the flight with a hotel package.
While this offer requires a lot of spending, if your flight costs close to $1,000, you’ll receive what is essentially a 30% discount — an incredible offer. It will be quite easy to spend $1,000 since the offer requires you to book into a premium cabin, so not only will you earn miles on your ticket, but also receive an incredible rebate, as well.
