CLEAR is making it easier to sign up for membership by allowing members to enroll through the United mobile app.
Let’s take a look at the news!
Ease of Enrollment & United Club Access at Select Locations
CLEAR is a program that utilizes biometrics to enter the security queues at airports and stadiums faster for a more seamless travel experience.
CLEAR says travelers who enroll through the United app will receive benefits such as “seamless entry” into United Club locations (if you’re eligible) with biometrics. This feature is currently available at 2 airports: Los Angeles (LAX) and Houston (IAH).
“We’re always looking for opportunities to add new features to United’s award-winning app that makes travel easier from booking to boarding and beyond,” said Jill Doyle, Managing Director of Customer Strategy and Innovation at United, in a statement.
“Our customers who use CLEAR are more satisfied with their airport experience, so we’re pleased to make it easier for them to learn more about the benefits CLEAR offers and take advantage of this service,” the statement continued.
Travelers interested in enrolling can visit the United app, though travelers interested in CLEAR Plus will need to visit a CLEAR airport kiosk and register their biometrics.
Ways To Save on Your CLEAR Membership
CLEAR offers 1 membership type, the standard CLEAR membership, which costs $199 annually and grants access to airports and stadiums. But there are numerous ways to save on the costs or receive a free membership outright.
As a reminder, you can save on your annual CLEAR membership if you’re a United MileagePlus member. Global Services and Premier 1K members receive a free membership, while all other tiers receive a discounted membership. Top-tier Delta SkyMiles members receive similar benefits.
CLEAR members having the option to enroll in the service directly in the United app is excellent news for the passenger experience, especially if you plan to visit a United Club lounge. If you haven’t already signed up for CLEAR, now would be a great time!
