Sonesta might not be the first brand you think of when it comes to hotels, and it’s definitely not the most exciting program. However, we love any opportunity to earn points for doing practically nothing, so it might be a good time to join Sonesta’s Travel Pass program.
Here are the details.

Some notable brand changes include The Royal Sonesta Washington, D.C. which used to be the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington, D.C., and The Royal Sonesta Kaua’i Resort which used to be the Marriott Kaua’i Resort.
How To Sign Up for Sonesta Travel Pass
All you need to do to sign up for Sonesta Travel Pass is fill out some basic information online. Don’t be alarmed if your bonus points don’t show up immediately. It took about 45 minutes for the points to show up in my account after joining Sonesta Travel Pass.
Redeeming Sonesta Points
Sonesta has an award chart with 11 tiers, offering redemption rates ranging from 10,000 points per night up to 50,000 points per night. You’ll need to call Sonesta at 800-SONESTA to make an award booking.
Final Thoughts
Sonesta is an under-the-radar hotel program that has recently grown quite a bit with the addition of about 200 properties from IHG and Marriott. You can now earn 1,000 bonus points just by signing up for its loyalty program, Sonesta Travel Pass, which offers free night redemptions starting at just 10,000 points.
