IHG has announced that it will open a voco hotel in Sharjah, the third-largest city in the United Arab Emirates, in 2027.

Here’s what you need to know.

Voco To Debut in Sharjah Emirate

IHG has inked a deal for the voco Sharjah, scheduled to open in 2027. The hotel will be located near Sharjah International Airport (SHJ), attracting tourists and business travelers.

The voco Sharjah will have 191 rooms and suites and will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a gym, a pool, a spa, and 5,000 square feet of meeting space.

In announcing the news, IHG said the new voco is a “perfect fit” for the market in Sharjah.

“Sharjah is a fast-emerging tourist destination with its natural and manmade landscapes and diverse tourism offerings — we are delighted to enhance the experience of travelers visiting the Emirate by offering world-class hospitality through our well-loved brand, voco,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts India, Middle East, and Africa.

Having debuted in 2018, voco is one of IHG’s newest brands. It falls under the premium umbrella, which includes brands such as HUALUXE Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, and EVEN Hotels. You’ll find voco hotels in 25 countries worldwide, and IHG says it’s on pace for 200 hotels within 10 years of its launch.

IHG has also signed agreements for other voco hotels in the region, including Riyadh, Cairo, and Beirut.

Booking IHG Hotels in the UAE

While voco Sharjah doesn’t open until 2027, you’re still able to book other IHG hotels in the UAE. IHG has a sizable presence in the UAE, with over 2 dozen hotels currently open. These include several luxury options such as InterContinental, Vignette Collection, and Hotel Indigo.
