American Express has increased the sign-up offers for both of their Delta co-branded credit cards to the highest offers we’ve seen, but they’re only available for a limited time.

The Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is currently offering 70,000 bonus miles and 10,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) after you make $4,000 in purchases during the first 4 months after account opening. You will also earn up to a $100 statement credit when you make a purchase with Delta on your new card in the first 4 months.

You will earn 2 Delta SkyMiles® for every dollar spent on Delta purchases, and 1 mile for every dollar spent on all other purchases. This card does come with a $195 annual fee that is not waived for the first year.

For those who fly Delta often, this card comes with some great benefits. Cardmembers get their first checked bag free for all Delta flights, and this benefit applies for up to 9 additional passengers traveling with the cardmember on the same reservation. This could add up to $500 in value for a group of 10 traveling together!

You will also receive Zone 1 priority boarding, discounted Delta Sky Club access, and a 20% discount on in-flight purchases of food, beverages, and entertainment when using your card.

Delta Sky Club
The Sky Club discount gives you access to Delta Sky Clubs at just $29 each for you and up to 2 traveling companions.

One of the most distinctive benefits of this card is that it also provides Delta MQMs, which help travelers qualify for elite status with Delta Air Lines. With the sign-up bonus offering 10,000 MQMs, you’ll be close to obtaining Delta’s first elite status tier of Silver Medallion status, which requires 25,000 MQMs.

You can earn another 10,000 additional MQMs and 10,000 additional Delta SkyMiles® with this card by making $25,000 in purchases within a calendar year. To double up on that offer, spend another $25,000 within a calendar year for an extra 10,000 MQMs and 10,000 Delta SkyMiles®.

This card comes with a Companion Certificate upon account renewal, which enables you to bring along a companion on a domestic main cabin round-trip flight on Delta Airlines just by paying the taxes and fees of your companion’s ticket.

Bottom Line: This card is great for frequent Delta flyers because it awards 70,000 Delta SkyMiles® after qualifying for the sign-up bonus and allows members to rack up MQMs to qualify for elite status just by making purchases with the card.

The Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is currently offering 60,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 in purchases within the first 4 months of account opening.

You will also earn a statement credit of up to $50 when you make a purchase with Delta on your new card in the first 4 months.

This card earns 2 Delta SkyMiles® for every dollar spent on Delta purchases and 1 Delta SkyMile® for every dollar spent on all other purchases. There is a $95 annual fee, but it is waived as an introductory offer for the first year.

You will also get access to Zone 1 priority boarding, discounted Delta Sky Club entry, and a 20% discount on in-flight purchases of food, beverages, and entertainment when using your card. In addition, the first checked bag for the cardmember and up to 9 additional travel companions on the same reservation is free.

While this card does not offer MQMs for the sign-up bonus or for making larger purchases, it does offer a Medallion Qualifying Dollar (MQD) waiver if you spend over $25,000 in purchases in a calendar year.

This waiver allows you to skip the MQD requirements and enables you to earn elite status just by earning MQMs.

Bottom Line: This card doesn’t come with as many perks as The Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, but with a sign-up bonus of 60,000 SkyMiles® and additional benefits when flying Delta Air Lines, it’s a great card to have for frequent Delta flyers with a much lower annual fee.

Overall, both of these Delta co-branded cards from American Express offer a great opportunity to earn a ton of Delta SkyMiles® and quite a few perks when flying with them. Since these offers are just for a limited time, be sure to apply by July 5, 2017.

Unfortunately, Delta Air Lines does not publish an award chart, and instead provides the redemption rate based on a number of factors that the airline decides. However, one unique benefit of Delta SkyMiles® is that your miles never expire.

Redemption rates start at just 10,000 SkyMiles® for select one-way domestic flights in the continental U.S. and Alaska on Delta Air Lines. Shorter routes can be found for just 5,000 miles.

Delta has also started to offer flash-sales for SkyMile® redemptions. Just last month, they published a sale on award flights to South America for just 50,000 SkyMiles® round-trip in economy and 105,000 SkyMiles® round-trip on Delta One.

It is important to note that American Express will not extend the sign-up bonus for these cards if you’ve previously earned a sign-up bonus on the same product in the past.

Since both of these cards are considered different products and both are at the highest sign-up bonuses we’ve seen, it’s worth considering applying for these cards during this limited time offer if you fly Delta and/or their SkyTeam partners.

The Delta SkyMiles® program also partners with the American Express Membership Rewards program and the Starwood Preferred Guest program, which gives you the ability to transfer your points from those programs directly into your SkyMiles® account and earn even more SkyMiles® for your next award flight.

In closing, the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is a great card for Delta flyers with a low annual fee that is waived the first year. The Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express offers a great way to obtain Delta elite status just by spending with your card.
