Long holiday weekends always bring the best sales – and Memorial Day? It doesn’t disappoint.

Kick off summer right by maximizing your points through shopping portal bonus deals! We’re outlining a few of the best ones below…

Remember, you don’t have to use the co-branded credit card to get these deals, you just have to shop through the portal you prefer. That means, use the right credit card and get points on points on points!

First of All, What Card Should I Use?

When you use a shopping portal to earn extra points, you can generally pay with any card you like once you’re at check-out. (There’s an exception to this rule when using Chase’s portal – see details below).

However, if you use a rewards based credit card to make the purchase then you can earn even more points!

For example, if you shop via the Southwest shopping portal using a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, in addition to their advertised bonus, you’ll earn an extra 1pt / $1.

If you’re looking to earn more Southwest points, then using a Chase card is a great option because they transfer directly to Southwest Airlines, as well as United too.

Bottom Line: Make sure you’re using a card that earns rewards points so that you can “double dip” along with bonuses offered through the shopping portals. Your card may well offer a large bonus for certain types of purchases as well, so do be strategic when choosing!

The Bonus Offers

Remember – to earn those bonus points you need to be logged into your respective portal and click through the portal to get to the store! Or, in some cases, use the special browser button you so wisely put in place just for times like this!

Oh, and don’t delay – most of these offers are only good through the weekend!

The airlines above all utilize the same general rewards platform, which is why you’ll see bonus offers from the same stores.

However as you can also clearly see, the specific number of bonus points do differ from airline to airline.

JetBlue ShopTrue

JetBlue seems to utilize a different shopping portal from most of the other airlines.

At this time, we aren’t seeing any specific advertising for Memorial Day Bonus points, but there are a few shops with current bonus offers (many which don’t expire until later in the summer).

Macy’s: 2 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)
Apple: 1 point / $1 (prev 0.5/$1)
Bloomingdales: 1 points / $1 (prev 0.5/$1)
Kiehl’s: 3 points / $1 (prev 2/$1)
Carhartt: 2 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)
Lady Foot Locker: 2 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)

British Airways, Avios eStore

While they aren’t technically celebrating Memorial Day, if you’re on a mission to earn more Avios there are some current bonus offers in the BA eStore we thought you should know about.

These merchants are actually the same as JetBlue’s:

Macy’s: 7 avios / $1 (prev 3/$1)
Apple:
3 avios / $1 (prev 2/$1)
Bloomingdales:
4 avios / $1 (prev 2/$1)
Kiehl’s:
12 avios / $1 (prev 8/$1)
Carhartt:
8 avios / $1 (prev 4/$1)
Lady Foot Locker:
 6 avios / $1 (prev 4/$1)

Chase Ultimate Rewards

Chase uses a different portal than the airlines and actually, they don’t seem to be doing Memorial Day bonuses at all, but not to worry!

Father’s Day is quickly approaching and they ARE advertising bonus deals for that.

Your bonus rewards depend on which card you’re choosing to click on to then shop through the portal (i.e. whether it’s a cash-back or points card)

Unlike the other portals, with Chase, you DO have to utilize the applicable card for your purchase in order to get your bonus.

Staples: 4% extra cash back / 2 points per $1
Omaha Steaks: 12% extra cash back / 12 points per $1
Bose:  3% extra cash back / 6 points per $1
Lucky Brand: 4% extra cash back / 2 points per $1
Under Armour: 5% extra back / 5 points per $1

Hilton Honors, Shop To Earn

Hilton also uses a separate portal from those above. Like JetBlue, they aren’t advertising any specific Memorial Day bonuses but based on the expiration date of some offers we can suss out the ones you need to hop on this weekend!

New Balance:  $15 off $100 + free shipping w/ code: HILTON15; bonus 7 points / $1 (prev 3/$1)
HP.com: 3 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)
UnbeatableSale.com: 11 points / $1 (prev 9/$1)

Choice Privileges Mall:

Shoppers looking to earn mega Memorial Day bonuses won’t find any specific advertising here either. However, there are a few stores with decent current bonus offers if you need to go this route.

Macy’s: 5 points / $1 (prev 2/$1)
Apple: 2 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)
Bloomingdale’s: 2 points / $1 (prev 1/$1)

Final Thoughts

There are some decent deals here if you’re looking to rack up some extra points or miles with your holiday shopping purchases.

If you’re not seeing stores you like, it certainly won’t be long before the next holiday sales and bonus offers appear, so keep your eyes peeled!
