Norwegian Unveils New Nonstop Routes to the U.S.

Norwegian at Gatwick

Norwegian Air has just announced nonstop service from London Gatwick to Austin and Chicago beginning in March 2018.

To celebrate this news, Norwegian is offering a tempting launch sale. One-way tickets can be purchased starting as low as $174.90 from Chicago and $249.90 from Austin (taxes and fees included).

A separate announcement also revealed plans for new nonstop routes from Boston and Oakland to Paris. These services are set to begin in April and May 2018, respectively.

Launch fares for one-way routes from Boston are listed starting at $149, and from Oakland starting at $229 (taxes and fees included).

Adding these flights to their arsenal, Norwegian now boasts 13 direct long-haul routes, making it the second largest long-haul airline at Gatwick.

Norweigan states they will also increase the frequency of routes provided from New York to Paris. In addition to the current daily service from New York (JFK), they will begin 6 weekly flights from Newark in February 2018. Norwegian’s Los Angeles to Paris route will also be increased from 4 to 6 weekly flights beginning in May 2018.

These new route announcements follow close on the heels of the Skytrax World Airline Awards announcement. At this summit, Norwegian Airlines was named the “World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline” for the third consecutive year and the “Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe” for the fifth year in a row.

Norwegian certainly seems to be living up to the statement of CEO Bjørn Kjos upon receiving these distinctions: “I can assure all of our customers that we won’t rest on our laurels; these awards give us huge momentum as we continue our ambitious expansion plans in Europe, the United States and beyond.”
