While Staybridge Suites may not be the most glamorous brand within the IHG Hotels & Resorts family, it’s an essential option for travelers looking to check in for an extended period of time without breaking the bank.

Staybridge Suites is classified as an upscale IHG hotel brand, though the term “upscale” here is relative. Staybridge Suites is a step above the more midscale Candlewood Suites, IHG’s other extended-stay chain. However, the brand is far more affordable less upscale than, say, any InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property.

Like Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites is an all-suite, residential-style hotel chain that targets mostly corporate and long-term travelers with its convenient amenities, spacious and well-equipped guest rooms, and seamless service. However, a few key differences set it apart from its competitors.

Let’s take a look at what can be expected from a stay at a Staybridge Suites property.

Everything You Need To Know About Staybridge Suites

The first Staybridge Suites hotel opened in 1998 in Alpharetta, Georgia. It would be another 10 years before the brand extended its footprint overseas with Staybridge Suites Liverpool in 2008.

There are more than 300 Staybridge Suites hotels scattered across North and South America, Mexico, and Europe, with more than 160 more in the development pipeline. Staybridge Suites generally competes with other extended-stay brands like Homewood Suites by Hilton.

Staybridge Suites is 1 of 3 extended-stay hotel brands operated by IHG, alongside Candlewood Suites (midscale) and the forthcoming Atwell Suites (upper-midscale) launching in 2022.

IHG categorizes Staybridge Suites as the most upscale of the 3 extended-stay brands due to its free hot breakfast buffet, amenities, and weekly social events that serve complimentary snacks and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to guests.

Staybridge Suites comprise solid 3-star limited-service properties, so you can expect suite-style accommodations, fitness facilities, business centers, and on-site convenience stores, but (for the most part) no full-service restaurants, spas, or bars.

In-Suite Amenities

Every Staybridge Suites property offers 3 room categories to choose from: studio suites, 1-bedroom suites (configured with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds), and 2-bedroom suites.

No matter which category you choose to book, every suite comes with a full kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, cooktop stove, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, and sink, along with work desks, ironing boards, flexible storage areas, and free Wi-Fi.

The 2-bedroom suites also feature 2 separate bathrooms, both equipped with showers.

Laundry Machines and Storage Lockers

As an extended-stay brand, Staybridge Suites often sees travelers check in for as many as 6 days (sometimes longer), which is why the brand goes go out of its way to offer additional features that other, shorter-term hotel stays don’t require.

Self-service laundry rooms are part of every Staybridge Suites hotel experience to ensure travelers stay fresh and maintain their routine even while on the road. In the same vein, flexible storage lockers are on hand for guests who require a bit more space to store bulky luggage items like bicycles or oversize suitcases.

In other words, Staybridge Suites has you covered whether you’re checking in for a long weekend or a sojourn lasting several weeks.

Hot Tip: COVID-19 has affected many services once typically offered at hotels, including Staybridge Suites. At a majority of the brand’s locations, breakfast service is limited to grab-and-go bags, evening socials are suspended, and pools remain closed. Be sure to call your specific hotel before arrival to double-check what facilities and services have been modified.

Chase IHG Rewards Credit Cards

While stays at Staybridge Suites properties are already relatively affordable, it’s possible to get even more value from your stay when you pay for your reservation using one of IHG’s co-branded credit cards.

Every purchase made, whether you’re paying for an overnight hotel stay or a weeks’ worth of groceries from your local supermarket, earns IHG One Rewards points that can be redeemed for reward stays at any Staybridge Suites location.

As soon as you sign up any of these cards, you’ll automatically gain access to a handful of perks at Staybridge Suites hotels — the best of which are exclusive member rates and the ability to redeem reward nights.

Cardholders also automatically receive IHG One Rewards elite status (Platinum Elite with the IHG Premier card and IHG Premier Business card, and Silver Elite with the IHG Traveler card).

The most popular and highly searched Staybridge Suites hotels tend to be concentrated in major cities and resort towns close to major attractions. Let’s check them out!

1. Staybridge Suites Cathedral City – Palm Springs (California)

From a central location in Coachella Valley, the Staybridge Suites Cathedral City is adjacent to the beautiful Cimarron Golf Course and has dreamy mountain views. Shopping and dining are nearby, and the property is also not far from Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), Eisenhower Medical Center, Desert Medical Center, JFK Memorial Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente.

Although there’s no restaurant or bar on-site, complimentary daily breakfast goes a long way to kick-starting whatever you have planned for the day, while self-laundry and fitness facilities allow you to stick to your daily routine, even while on the road.

Guests can hit the outdoor heated pool — a popular spot for enjoying sunset next to one of the fire pits. The hotel also hosts a social happy hour 3 times a week, during which guests are treated to complimentary snacks and drinks. Self-parking is free.

Reward night redemptions average about 25,000 IHG One Rewards points at this property. Otherwise, you can anticipate paying around $150 by cash or card for a standard suite here.

2. Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites (Florida)

Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites

South of the Staybridge Suites Lake Buena Vista location, but still close to I-4, Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites puts guests a touch closer to ESPN Wide World of Sports and Disney’s Blizzard Beach, as well as a host of golf courses. That said, Walt Disney World Resort is just over 1 mile away and still well within reach.

In addition to on-site fitness and business centers and a self-service laundry facility, this location offers an outdoor pool complex that includes a hot tub and separate children’s pool. A poolside bar is open nightly.

Like all Staybridge Suites locations, this one also hosts an evening reception 3 days a week (Monday through Wednesday). More unique is the property’s exterior, which is a holdover from its former life as a New Orleans-inspired Quality Suites.

Expect to redeem between 12,500 and 17,500 IHG One Rewards points for a reward stay at this property. Alternatively, standard suites average about $110 a night.

Hot Tip: This hotel charges an $11.45 per-night resort fee that covers pool towels as well as the use of the pool area’s sun loungers, tables, and chairs.

3. Staybridge Suites Seattle – Fremont (Washington)

Travelers looking to spend multiple days in Seattle without emptying their wallets on an expensive hotel stay should look into Staybridge Suites Seattle – Fremont.

From this conveniently based property in the Fremont neighborhood, the University of Washington, Space Needle, and Woodland Park Zoo are about a 6-minute drive away.

Outdoor enthusiasts love amenities including the rooftop deck, courtyard with grills, and proximity to area parks. Inside, there’s the hotel’s 24-hour business center, in-room work desks, and busy-traveler extras like free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and self-service laundry.

Other highlights include the property’s heated indoor pool and pet-friendly policy. Driving in a city always comes at a price — in this case, self-parking costs $15 a day. If you’re sticking to public transportation, the hotel is located near several major bus lines.

For a reward stay, anticipate redeeming around 25,000 IHG One Rewards points per night. At press time, standard suites averaged about $135 per night.

4. Staybridge Suites Denver Downtown (Colorado)

Staybridge Suites Denver Downtown

Staybridge Suites Denver Downtown opened in 2018, and this relatively new property puts business travelers in the heart of the city’s corporate hub. Within a 3-block radius sits the U.S. Mint, the Civic Center, and the Colorado Convention Center.

You’ll also be within easy walking distance of more leisurely attractions like the 16th Street Mall (home to some of the city’s best shops and restaurants) as well as the Colorado State Capitol, Denver Art Museum, and Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

While it may be a corporate gem, this Staybridge Suites still manages to deliver one of the brand’s best features — a heated pool and hot tub — though both are located indoors and do not include a separate pool for children.

Otherwise, expect your standard Staybridge Suites amenities, including fitness and business centers, self-laundry services, and spacious suite-style rooms with kitchens and work desks, as well as free breakfast and Wi-Fi and evening socials 3 times a week.

For an award stay, expect to redeem between 23,000 and 29,000 IHG One Rewards points per night. Studio suites average about $170 per night.

5. Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Convention Center

Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Conv Ctr

A 3-minute drive is all it takes to get to the Henry B. González Convention Center from the Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Convention Center, but that’s not all this hotel is close to.

As the nearest hotel to the Alamodome, guests are within walking distance to where some of the city’s biggest concerts and college football games are held — not to mention The Alamo and San Antonio’s famous River Walk are both within a 5-minute drive.

Whether you book a studio suite or a 2-bedroom suite that comfortably sleeps 6, every guest will enjoy free Wi-Fi, daily breakfast, evening socials (Monday through Wednesday), and access to the outdoor pool, business and fitness centers, and self-service laundry room. Pets are welcome here as well, though restrictions apply.

For an award stay, redemptions range from 12,500 to 17,500 IHG One Rewards points per night. Paid rates average about $125 for a standard studio.

6. Staybridge Suites Houston – Medical Center (Texas)

The Houston Medical Center is a top medical location, home to multiple major hospitals and medical schools. Whether you’re in the area for work, visiting a patient, or touring as a prospective student, the Staybridge Suites Houston – Medical Center is a solid place home base for a few days.

The hotel sits just 2 miles from popular hospitals and offers a free complimentary shuttle within a 3-mile radius. From here, you’re across the freeway from NRG Stadium and 20 minutes from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). The Houston Zoo, Hermann Park, Museum District, and Rice University are also nearby.

After a dip in the pool, stop by one of the hotel’s evening socials held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for a pick-me-up before a proper dinner — either in your room, on 1 of the patio grills, or at any of the dozens of restaurants nearby. On-site parking is free at this hotel.

For an award night stay at this property, you’ll need to redeem around 20,000 IHG One Rewards points per night. If paying by cash or card, rooms average about $135 per night.

7. Staybridge Suites Times Square – New York City (New York)

Staybridge Suites Times Square New York City

You’ll always have to contend with noise levels and crowds in Midtown Manhattan, but for many visitors, that is exactly what they’ve come to New York City to see.

The Staybridge Suites Times Square – New York City sits just 2 blocks from Times Square, which means it’s also within walking distance to a score of Manhattan’s biggest landmarks, including Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

It’s easy to imagine what city apartment life is like in Staybridge Suites’ suite-style rooms that come tricked out with full kitchens, free Wi-Fi, and access to the hotel’s fitness and business centers, self-service laundry room, and on-site convenience store. Free daily breakfast and weekly evening socials are other nice perks.

Although this location does not have a pool, the hotel makes up for it with an atmospheric cocktail lounge off the lobby called The Den.

Parking is notoriously pricey in New York City and this hotel is no exception, charging $35 per day per vehicle. For an award stay, expect to redeem anywhere from 22,500 to 42,500 IHG One Rewards points per night. Cash rates average about $135 for a standard suite.

8. Staybridge Suites Naples-Gulf Coast (Florida)

Staybridge Suites Naples Gulf Coast

You won’t be far from the sand when you stay at Staybridge Suites Naples-Gulf Coast. The closest public beach is just a 6-minute drive west — not to mention the myriad seafood shacks and restaurants that have set up shop along the Gulf’s shoreline. Downtown Naples is 12 minutes away, while Fort Myers is about 1 hour away by car.

Families love the ease and convenience of this home-away-from-home, which comes with all the trimmings and trappings you’d want for an extended stay away. There’s a grill and fire pit, a heated outdoor pool, free hot breakfast every morning, and spacious suites that feature kitchens and are pet-friendly.

Don’t miss the evening reception every Monday through Wednesday where guests are treated to drinks and a light dinner. What’s more, the hotel even rents out bicycles for exploring the neighborhood.

Although a bit more expensive than your average Staybridge Suites hotel, this property offers good value compared to other resorts in the area. For an award stay, anticipate redeeming anywhere from 15,000 to 27,500 IHG One Rewards points per night. Paid rates average about $215 per night.

Hot Tip: Pets up to 80 pounds can stay at Staybridge Suites Naples-Gulf Coast for a $75 fee for the first 7 nights and $150 for 8 nights or more.

9. Staybridge Suites Las Vegas (Nevada)

Staybridge Suites Las Vegas

This no-fuss extended-stay hotel near Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is perfect for travelers looking to stay close to the Strip without being right on top of it. Staybridge Suites Las Vegas sits directly off I-15 for easy in-and-out access and is just a few blocks away from Mandalay Bay Resort and the famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

All 118 all-suite rooms are mini sanctuaries with balconies and kitchens, and the rest of the grounds have everything you need for the week (or however long you’re staying) including free parking and breakfast, a heated outdoor pool, fitness and business centers, a self-service laundry room, and evening socials 3 nights a week.

The hotel even offers a free shuttle bus that connects to the airport as well as the Strip, stopping at New York-New York Hotels & Casino.

You’ll need to redeem between 22,500 and 30,000 IHG One Rewards points for an award night here, while cash rates hover around $175 for a standard suite.

10. Staybridge Suites Phoenix-Glendale Sports District (Arizona)

It’s all too easy to forget you’re not in the city center during a stay at Staybridge Suites Phoenix-Glendale Sports District, what with so much in the surrounding area. Glendale is Phoenix’s entertainment district, and from this hotel, you’ll be within a half-hour drive of the neighborhood’s biggest attractions.

Sports fan? Guests can easily walk to Gila River Arena and State Farm Stadium (home of the Coyotes and Cardinals, respectively). The Phoenix Raceway is a 20-minute drive. The hotel also runs a complimentary shuttle to and from Westgate Entertainment District — a godsend when the Arizona heat really settles in and you want to avoid walking.

Back at the hotel, expect standard Staybridge Suites amenities, including suites with full kitchens, business and fitness centers, a laundry room, an on-site convenience store, and a barbecue grilling area next to a pretty outdoor pool. Free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and evening socials 3 nights a week are other Staybridge Suites perks.

Award night stays can be redeemed here for 25,000 to 40,000 IHG One Rewards points. Paid rates average about $130 per night.

11. Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown – Convention Center (Tennessee)

Adjacent to the convention center in the downtown business district, Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown Convention Center enjoys a convenient location for business travelers. Centrally located, both families and business travelers prefer this property for its proximity to world-class attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

Typical for Staybridge Suites, every room is a suite with a full kitchen and workspace. Rates include free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and access to the property’s heated indoor pool and whirlpool, fitness and business centers, self-service laundry room, and evening social hours (Monday through Wednesday).

If you want to be near the top attractions that Chattanooga has to offer, this location is ideal. The Tennessee Aquarium is 1 mile away while the Chattanooga Choo-Choo is just a 15-minute walk. A free shuttle picks up 1 block away from the hotel and offers transportation throughout the downtown area.

You’ll need to redeem around 17,500 IHG One Rewards points for an award night here. Cash rates average about $135 for a standard suite.

12. Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown-Convention Center (Indiana)

In town for a Colts game? Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown sits just 1 block from Lucas Oil Stadium, which means, unless you’re actually sitting in the stands, you can’t get much closer to the action.

In fact, anyone here for a major event will be well-positioned. The hotel is also extremely close to the Indiana Convention Center and the Crane Bay Event Center, while Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is only a 20-minute drive away.

At the hotel, all 113 guest rooms come with kitchens and sleeper sofas (the best feature views of the stadium) while signature on-site amenities include an indoor pool and hot tub, self-service laundry facilities, fitness and business centers, free breakfast, and weekly evening socials on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Parking costs $20 per day. Pets are welcome for a $75 fee.

Reward stays cost around 17,500 IHG One Rewards points per night. Paid rates average about $125 for a studio suite.

13. Staybridge Suites Anaheim at the Park (California)

Staybridge Suites Anaheim at the Park
The lobby at Staybridge Suites Anaheim at the Park. Image Credit: IHG

As its name suggests, Staybridge Suites Anaheim at the Park sits right off Disneyland Drive and within sight of Disneyland — an unbeatable location for park-goers. To that end, this hotel is closer in distance than the nearby Staybridge Suites Anaheim-Resort Area, which sits farther down I-5.

As such, the hotel is a perfect base for families and groups looking to post up for a few days and take advantage of the area’s attractions, which, aside from Disneyland itself, also includes Disney California Adventure Park, the Honda Center, Angel Stadium, and, for business travelers, the Anaheim Convention Center (just a 5-minute drive south).

The competitive rate includes free hot breakfast, in-suite kitchens with refrigerators and stovetops, and access to on-site amenities including an outdoor pool and fire pit — though the best perk of all is being within walking distance of Downtown Disney and its monorail station.

Hot Tip: Guests can purchase Disneyland Resort tickets directly from the front desk.

The hotel charges $18 per day for self-parking — roughly equivalent to what Disneyland charges at its designated lots — so we recommend that park-goers skip the car and utilize the monorail instead that accepts Disneyland park tickets and connects Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland.

The hotel’s prime location means reward stays can be pricey, around 20,000 to 32,500 IHG One Rewards points per night. At press time, paid room rates averaged about $182 for a standard suite.

Final Thoughts

Extended-stay hotels aren’t for everyone. Although Staybridge Suites locations feature on-site convenience stores, you won’t find a full restaurant or bar. Unless you’re comfortable cooking in your room every night or venturing off-property for your next meal, you might want to reconsider your options.

That said, for independent travelers seeking a home away from home for a few days or more, Staybridge Suites is a solid choice.

Guest rooms are spacious, well-kept, and up to date, essential services include laundry rooms and on-site convenience stores, and rates include free perks few other hotel brands provide, including complimentary hot breakfast every morning and evening social hours multiple times a week.

Let’s not forget Staybridge Suites’ competitive rates. For IHG One Rewards members that redeem their earned points for a reward night stay, these suites can offer superior value.
