IHG has announced some exciting news: a brand-new Kimpton property is headed to Brisbane, Australia, later this decade.

Here’s what to know about the hotel.

Kimpton Teneriffe Is Coming to Brisbane

Kimpton Teneriffe will have 155 guest rooms and suites. Keeping to the brand’s lifestyle ethos, the hotel will have a 200-seat restaurant and bar, a spa, a fitness center, and meeting and event spaces. Additionally, Kimpton Teneriffe will have an expansive pool with views of the nearby Brisbane River.

Kimpton Teneriffe is expected to open for guests in 2028.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our Kimpton brand to Brisbane, particularly in such a strategic location that perfectly aligns to the aspirational ethos of the brand,” said Cameron Burke, director of development, Australasia & Pacific, at IHG. Kimpton has an ardent global following amongst the lifestyle-led and socially inclined, which will resonate strongly as part of the Skyring Terrace precinct and within Brisbane’s luxury hotel market.”

Bottom Line:

Kimpton is one of IHG’s luxury hotel brands. It is known for combining a sophisticated sense of design with unique amenities to deliver a one-of-a-kind guest experience. Today, you’ll find 70 Kimpton hotels and 85 restaurants, bars, and lounges worldwide.

Booking IHG Hotels in Australia

IHG has a pretty impressive presence in Australia. The chain has over 50 hotels open across several high-end brands, like InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, and Hotel Indigo. Additionally, 19 hotels are in the pipeline.

While we wait for the Kimpton Teneriffe to open, you have plenty of options to earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points in Australia. Australia is one of the best regions to book IHG hotels, as many are on the low end with points or cash.

For instance, the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort — probably one of the best IHG hotels in the country — starts at around 70,000 points per night for dates this winter.

Earning IHG One Rewards points is straightforward. IHG offers 3 co-branded credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — that feature large welcome bonuses. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

You can even earn IHG points without an eligible credit card. Here are several options:

Final Thoughts

IHG will open a Kimpton hotel in Brisbane in the next few years, and it will feature luxury amenities like a spa and infinity pool. While we await this hotel’s opening, now’s a great time to book other luxury IHG hotels across the country!
