There’s an excellent deal from the East Coast to Puerto Rico for around $700 round-trip — and it’s lie-flat business class.

Fare Deal — Details

This deal is on United Airlines from Newark (EWR) to San Juan (SJU) in Polaris business class. While Polaris may be more known for its routes to Europe or Asia, United operates Polaris on some flights to and from the Caribbean.

United flies its Boeing 767-400ER on the route (which recently underwent a retrofit) and is arranged in a 1-1-1 configuration with 12 rows of lie-flat seats. It’s a fairly short flight — typically around 4 hours — but you’ll arrive feeling refreshed and pampered through perks such as Saks bedding, an amenity kit, and enhanced meals.

Play around with a few dates on Google Flights and book directly through United or an online travel agency (OTA) like Expedia.

Hot Tip:

United flies several daily routes between Newark and San Juan. However, not all of the routes offer Polaris business class, so make sure you’re selecting flights operated by the Boeing 767.

There’s widespread availability between May and late November and some limited availability in early December.

This is an excellent deal for San Juan. While there are usually good deals to Puerto Rico, we rarely see lie-flat seats at such an affordable price.
