Air Canada frequent flyers and Aeroplan fans take note: Air Canada has announced a sale on award redemptions that could significantly reduce the number of points needed to book flights.

These deals are available only for a limited time, though, so you’ll need to book soon.

Air Canada Aeroplan Redemption Sale Details

The Air Canada Aeroplan redemption sale offers up to a 25% discount on award redemption prices. Tickets must be booked by February 23 for travel between February 20 and September 30, 2025.

The sale does not apply to flights on partner airlines booked through the Aeroplan program.

It is valid on flights operated by Air Canada (including Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge) from Canada to destinations within Canada, and between Canada and the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

There are blackout dates:

  • Within Canada, and between Canada and the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean: June 26–September 7
  • From Canada to Europe: June 19 – July 1; from Europe to Canada: August 1–September 10
  • From Canada to Asia Pacific: June 20 – July 31; from Asia Pacific to Canada: August 1–September 10

No promo code is needed. You just book award flights as you normally would, after logging into your Aeroplan account. Taxes and fees apply.

A sample flight from Newark (EWR) to Calgary (YYC) during this winter ski season revealed award prices starting at a relatively low 14,500 points in economy, one way, plus $35 in taxes and fees.

Prices from Canadian gateways can be even lower. For example, fly Toronto (YYZ) to New York-LaGuardia (LGA) for 5,500 points and $85 in taxes and fees.

Aeroplan is among our favorite loyalty programs. Even when there isn’t a sale, it’s an excellent way to book flights on airlines beyond Air Canada. Its partners include the airlines in Star Alliance, like United Airlines and Lufthansa.

Aeroplan is also among the best ways to book phenomenal redemptions like first class on Lufthansa or business class on Japan-based ANA, which has one of the best business products in the world.

Hot Tip:

Make sure to book your travel with a credit card that rewards you for airfare purchases. Check out our guide to the best personal and business credit cards for airline purchases.

Final Thoughts

Air Canada has a limited-time award sale. You’ll need to act fast, though, because the flights need to be booked by February 23, 2025.
