Many of the credit card offers that appear on this site are from credit card companies from which we may receive financial compensation when a customer clicks on a link, when an application is approved, or when an account is opened. This compensation may impact how and where products appear on this site (including, for example, the order in which they appear). However, the credit card information that we publish has been written and evaluated by experts who know these products inside out. We only recommend products we either use ourselves or endorse. This site does not include all credit card companies or all available credit card offers that are on the market. The ability to earn as high as 200,000 points is the highest known welcome offer currently available on the American Express® Business Gold Card, though not all applicants will be eligible to receive it.
Because the welcome bonus offer amount is variable, we’ll review who’s targeted for the best welcome offer and the factors American Express considers during the application process.
Targeted offers are discussed in the article below. Please note that these offers are not available to all applicants. Any information related to targeted offers has been collected independently and has not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
How To Find the Amex Business Gold Card 200K Welcome Offer
The current public welcome bonus offer for the Amex Business Gold card is:
As High As 200,000 points. Find Out Your Offer. You may be eligible for as high as 200,000 Membership Rewards® Points after spending $15,000 in your first 3 months of Membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer.
Checking directly will allow you to see what type of offer you’re targeted for. Here’s a screenshot of the 200,000-point welcome offer that Upgraded Points staffers have found:

Your actual welcome bonus offer amount won’t be displayed until after you fill out the application details. Then, American Express runs an initial soft credit check to approve you and determine the targeted welcome offer it will show you. If you decide to withdraw the application after seeing the welcome offer, your credit score won’t be affected. (Source: American Express)

However, your credit score may be affected if you accept your new account with a hard inquiry.
Friends and family members with an American Express card can refer you to an Amex card using the refer-a-friend program.

Better yet, referring a friend does not require the person referring you to have the Amex Business Gold card. No matter which American Express card they hold, they can send you their referral offer, and if you’re lucky, you can even receive a targeted welcome offer that earns you even more points.
How To Find and Share Your Personal Referral Link
To find and share your Amex personal referral link, go to the refer-a-friend page on the American Express website.
Then select the card you’re sending a referral for. Once you’ve clicked your card, American Express will show you the number of points you will receive for referring your friend and the number of points your friend will receive as a welcome offer if they are approved.
To send your referral link, enter their email address to have it emailed directly. Or you can generate a unique link you can send them.
Ensure that your friend applies through the link you provide them with or you will not be eligible to receive the referral bonus points.
Option 3: Targeted Email Offers
If you’re still searching, watch for targeted email or snail-mail offers. You need to opt in to receive new card and credit offers in your Amex account’s general marketing email preferences.
Option 4: Check the CardMatch Tool
If you can’t find the offer you’d like on Amex’s website, you can use the CardMatch tool.
CardMatch uses a soft credit check to see if you’re eligible for any elevated offers. Because it isn’t a hard pull, checking offers doesn’t impact your credit score. (Source: CardMatch)
Easy Ways To Meet the Minimum Spend
Meeting the $15,000 minimum spending requirement in 3 months can feel high, but it’s much easier when you make a plan. Consider timing your application around large recurring business purchases like inventory, equipment, advertising campaigns, or tax payments.
You’ll also want to consolidate as much of your everyday business spending as possible onto the card during the qualification period. This includes travel, shipping, office supplies, and vendor payments. If needed, prepaying certain expenses or making bulk purchases can help you reach the threshold faster — just be sure to stay within your normal budget and pay off your balance in full to avoid interest.
Who Is Eligible for the Amex Business Gold Card’s 200K Welcome Offer?
Under the “Offer & Benefit Terms” of the application, American Express may state its “lifetime language.”
It states: “You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or previous versions of this Card.”
This rule generally limits applicants to earning a welcome offer on a specific card once, so if you’ve already earned a welcome offer on the Amex Business Gold card, you may not be eligible again.
However, there’s an easy way to confirm your eligibility. After you submit your application details, you may (or may not) see this “pop-up message.”

If you see the pop-up message, you won’t be eligible for the welcome offer for the Amex Business Gold card at this time. You can either continue the application (without earning the bonus offer) or withdraw from the process entirely, but no matter what, your credit score won’t be impacted.
If you don’t see this pop-up window during the application process, this means you’re eligible for the welcome offer shown on the next screen. This bonus amount is variable, and your eligibility to earn a welcome offer as high as 200,000 points can be impacted for a couple of reasons (Source: American Express):
Your spending history on existing American Express accounts
Your card history with American Express, detailing how many accounts you’ve closed or opened
The number of welcome bonus offers you’ve already earned with American Express
Is 200K the Highest Bonus Offer Ever?
Yes. The current welcome offer, which is as high as 200,000 points, details the highest bonus offer available on the Amex Business Gold card.
Not everyone is eligible for it, so if you get targeted for 200,000 bonus points, it’s the best welcome offer out there.
Hot Tip:
In the past, the Amex Business Gold card has had several public welcome offers ranging from 70,000 to 100,000 bonus points. You can review the Amex Business Gold card’s full welcome offer history since 2019 in our extensive guide.
4x Membership Rewards points on the top 2 eligible categories in which your business spends the most every month (up to $150,000 in combined purchases every calendar year; 1x thereafter):
3x Membership Rewards points on flights and prepaid hotels booked on AmexTravel.com
Here are a couple of ways to use 200,000 Amex Membership Rewards points for business class:
Book 2 round-trip tickets to Japan: Transfer points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at a 1:1 ratio and book tickets in the premium cabin on All Nippon Airways (ANA). Virgin Atlantic charges between 105,000 and 120,000 points for a round-trip ticket in business class between the U.S. and Japan.
Book 2 round-trip tickets to Europe: Amex Membership Rewards points transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio, meaning 1 Amex point becomes 1 Flying Blue mile. You can book 2 round-trip tickets in business class between the U.S. and Europe for just 240,000 Flying Blue miles.
The ability to earn as high as 200,000 points on the Amex Business Gold card and can deliver significant value for eligible business owners who meet the spending requirement. Be sure to check your eligibility during the application process and review the targeted welcome offer you receive before accepting the new account.
