Chase Ultimate Rewards

The Ink Business Preferred card, which is issued by Chase, is one of the best business credit cards available. Although this is a credit card with a credit limit (as opposed to no preset spending limit), this credit card can offer some impressive credit limits to its cardholders.

We’ve seen credit limits in excess of $100,000 for some cardholders, so this is definitely one of the highest-limit credit cards available for business owners.

The Ink Business Preferred card has a great welcome bonus and the ability to earn 3x Ultimate Rewards points on the first $150,000 in combined business purchases every cardmember year from this list:

  • Advertising purchases with social media sites and search engines
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Shipping purchases
  • Travel

Maxing out that $150,000 cap every year translates to earning 450,000 Ultimate Rewards points every year, which is worth around $9,000, based on our valuations.

You will also earn 5x points on Lyft purchases through March 31, 2025.

The other benefits included are the ability to get a 25% redemption bonus on Chase travel portal bookings and Pay Yourself Back, as well as cell phone insurance, travel insurance that includes primary car rental coverage, purchase protection, extended warranty, and no foreign transaction fees.

Lastly, there are no additional annual fees for employee cards.

Why We Like Earning Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

Just like Amex Membership Rewards points, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are redeemable in many ways.

The best way to use your points is to transfer them to airline and hotel partners for award travel.

If that doesn’t suit you, you can use your Ultimate Rewards points for Pay Yourself Back, Chase travel portal bookings, online shopping, cash-back, gift cards, and charitable donations.

Card Categories

The Capital One Spark Cash Plus card is one of the few charge cards issued by Capital One. This particular card has no preset spending limit, and we’ve seen monthly spending limits in the high 6 figures, so it can truly be a game changer.

This card doesn’t allow carrying a balance, though, so that’s something you’ll want to remember before applying for the card.

It offers a welcome bonus, but it’s known for earning 2% unlimited cash-back on every purchase with no limits. It also earns 5% cash-back on hotels and car rentals booked via Capital One Travel.

Every year, you can also get your $150 annual fee refunded if  you spend at least $150,000.

Lastly, some other benefits consist of zero fraud liability, roadside assistance, extended warranty, no foreign transaction fees, and no additional fee for employee cards.

Why We Like Earning Capital One Miles

One of the secrets of the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card is that your cash-back rewards can actually be converted to Capital One miles, which is a huge benefit.

Effectively, you can convert your 2% or 5% cash-back into 2x or 5x Capital One miles, which is worth a return on spending of 3.6% or 9%.

In order to do this, you’ll need to also have another Capital One card that earns Capital One miles, such as the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Capital One miles are best used with Capital One’s transfer partners to book award travel, but if you’re willing to settle for less value, you can use your miles for cash-back, gift cards, PayPal, Amazon, and Capital One Travel bookings.

Capital One Spark Travel Elite Card

The very last card we’ll discuss is the Capital One Spark Travel Elite card. Although this card isn’t open for public applications (you’ll need to contact your business relationship manager to apply for this card), we feel it’s necessary to highlight this card.

The Capital One Spark Travel Elite card very much resembles the Capital One Venture X card, except for the fact that it has no preset spending limit and is a business card instead of a personal card.

It’s a fantastic choice because it earns up to 10x miles per dollar spent:

  • 10x miles on hotels and car rentals booked via Capital One Travel
  • 5x miles on flights booked via Capital One Travel
  • 2x miles on other purchases

Plus, the Capital One Spark Travel Elite card offers an account anniversary bonus of 10,000 miles after every anniversary year.

There’s a $300 Capital One Travel credit, as well as unlimited access to Capital One Lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, and a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership.

Furthermore, you’ll enjoy up to $100 in statement credits every 4 years for Global Entry/TSA PreCheck application fee reimbursements.

The Capital One Spark Travel Elite card has no personal guarantee, which means this business card doesn’t show up on your personal credit reports (unlike Capital One’s other business cards).

Final Thoughts

Overall, there are lots of reasons why you’d want a card with a high credit limit as a business owner.

Beyond being able to utilize higher spending power to run your business smoothly on a daily basis, you’ll enjoy the security in knowing that if you occasionally need to make larger, unforeseen purchases, you have wiggle room.

Many different business cards offer high limits, but we’ve outlined 2 Amex cards with no preset spending limits, 1 Chase card known for offering higher credit limits, and 2 Capital One cards with no preset spending limits.

In reality, you have plenty of choices, so make the decision that’s best for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do business credit cards have higher limits?

In general, business credit cards have higher limits than personal credit cards. Personal credit card spending is usually significantly lower than business credit card spending, which is one of the reasons why business cards usually have high limits.

How do I get a large amount of business credit?

You can get more business credit by either applying for credit limit increases with your existing business credit card, opening more business credit cards, or increasing your income or business revenue and qualifying for automatic credit limit increases (only offered at some financial institutions).

Does the Amex Business Platinum card have a limit?

The Amex Business Platinum card has no preset spending limit. However, that doesn’t mean you can spend an unlimited amount of money. Amex will use lots of different factors to determine how much spending power to allocate to you every month.

Does the Amex Business Gold card have a limit?

Just like the Amex Business Platinum card, the Amex Business Gold card has no preset spending limit. Remember, this card doesn’t allow unlimited spending; rather, Amex adjusts your spending power regularly in line with the information that Amex has about you and your business.

What is the maximum credit limit for American Express?

The sky is the limit, honestly. Amex has charge cards, which don’t have preset spending limits, and some of these cards have been used to purchase extremely expensive items, including yachts, expensive art, and much more.

What is the highest credit limit for Capital One?

Some Capital One cards have no preset spending limit! These are currently limited to business cards; but if you have a normal credit card such as the Capital One Venture X card, we’ve seen credit limits as high as $75,000 and above.
