The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is featuring its most sought-after welcome bonus offer, and it’s definitely one that won’t last very long.

New applicants can earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after meeting the card’s minimum spending requirement, marking the return of the best-ever bonus offer on this popular travel card. That’s a big step above its standard welcome offer of 75,000 bonus points.

But that’s not all. The Chase Sapphire Preferred card has also received a refresh for 2026, adding a variety of new benefits while keeping its annual fee unchanged at $95. Let’s dive into the specifics and who qualifies for this limited-time welcome offer.

Earn 100K Points With the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

Since its launch in 2009, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card has been one of the most trusted travel rewards credit cards, striking a perfect balance between affordability and value.

The $95 annual fee hasn’t increased over the years, though the benefits have steadily improved. New for 2026, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card earns 3x points on gas and EV charging, earns 3x points on vacation rentals, offers a $120 application fee credit for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS, and features an enhanced annual Chase Travel hotel credit worth up to $100, doubling the previous $50 value.

Most importantly, cardholders can earn points within the highly valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards program, allowing transfers to leading airline and hotel partners and flexible travel booking options through the Chase Travel portal.

Based on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s history, the bonus offers typically range from 60,000 to 80,000 points. The most valuable welcome offer has been the rare 100,000-point bonus offer, and that’s exactly what has returned for 2026.

Chase Ultimate Rewards

The minimum spending requirement is $5,000 in the first 3 months from account opening. After you meet the spending requirement, it takes 1 or 2 billing cycles for these points to reflect in your Chase Ultimate Rewards balance.

Once you earn these 100,000 bonus points, you can expect to redeem them for an incredible $2,000 in travel based on our latest valuations. We estimate Chase points are worth 2 cents apiece because of the generous transfer partner opportunities.

Why Right Now Is the Best Time To Apply

This is just the third time in the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s 17-year history that a 100,000-point welcome offer has been available.

Historically, these elevated welcome offers haven’t lasted long. We last saw them from June 2021 to October 2021 and again briefly from April 2025 to May 2025 before being pulled.

For that reason, there’s no guarantee this latest welcome offer will stick around for long. With this welcome offer, you’ll earn 33% more bonus points than the standard 75,000-point bonus offer.

Who’s Eligible for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card?

In 2025, Chase updated its eligibility requirements for its Sapphire family of cards.

Cardholders are now only allowed to earn a welcome offer on each specific Sapphire card once per lifetime. Therefore, if you’ve already earned a Chase Sapphire Preferred card welcome bonus offer in the past, you wouldn’t be eligible to earn this 100,000-point bonus offer.

Interestingly, Chase’s updated Sapphire rules have opened the door for more applicants. If you hold the Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ and have never earned a welcome bonus on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you could be eligible to apply for the card and earn its 100,000-point welcome offer — something that wasn’t previously possible under Chase’s older eligibility rules.

Before you apply, though, there are other rules that apply more broadly across to Chase credit cards. Most importantly, you must be under Chase’s 5/24 threshold, meaning you’ve opened fewer than 5 credit cards across all issuers in the past 24 months to qualify for any new Chase product.

Of course, you’ll also want to have good to excellent credit for your best chances at approval.

Best Ways To Redeem 100K Points in 2026

Chase offers an impressive lineup of domestic and international airline and hotel transfer partners. All of your points will move over at a 1:1 ratio except for World of Hyatt. As of June 15, 2026, all new Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders will only be able to move their points to the hotel program at a 4:3 ratio.

Don’t forget that you’ll also earn points on the purchases required to meet the minimum spending requirement, resulting in at least 5,000 more points, and potentially even more if some of that spending falls within the card’s bonus categories.

1. Business Class Flight to Switzerland

If you’re hoping to book a business class flight to Europe, transferring your points to Air Canada Aeroplan is often the best. Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer instantly to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio, giving you access to award flights on Air Canada and its extensive network of Star Alliance partner airlines.

From July to October, there are dozens of dates that you can book one-way SWISS Air flights from the U.S. to Geneva and Zurich for just 60,000 points and less than $60 in taxes and fees. The true cash cost of a business class ticket is closer to $3,000 one-way, so you’re getting nearly 5 cents per point in value from this single redemption.

You’re just shy of another 20,000 points to book your flight back home in business class, though Aeroplan also offers affordable economy flights bookable for 32,500 points to secure your round-trip flight.

2. Book 3 Nights at the Hana-Maui Resort

Hawaii vacations are costly, but the Chase Sapphire Preferred card can help offset those major travel costs. With Chase points now transferring to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio for new cardholders, 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points would convert into 75,000 World of Hyatt points.

Those points are enough for a 3-night stay at the upscale Hana-Maui Resort, a secluded retreat located at the end of Maui’s iconic Road to Hana. Known for its tranquil setting in Hana town, it’s an ideal place to experience one of Hawaii’s most scenic and unspoiled destinations.

In comparison, cash price for this same reservation is $2,600.

As a result, you’ll get an impressive 2.6 cents per point from this redemption — even with the new, lowered 4:3 transfer ratio.

3. Book up to 14 Domestic Flights

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are also great for booking domestic flights, giving access to partners like JetBlue TrueBlue, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards, and United Airlines MileagePlus.

Just as 1 example, JetBlue offers some of the most affordable redemption rates. You can book one-way flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Newark (EWR) for less than 7,000 points and $5.60 in taxes and fees.

In practical terms, 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points could cover as many as 14 one-way flights or 7 round-trip tickets.

Compared to paying more than $2,100 in cash for those same flights, you’d be getting right around 2 cents per point in value, which is very much in line with our valuation of Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card 100k Welcome Offer Worth It?

There aren’t many travel rewards credit cards with a similar annual fee that can compete with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

For instance, the American Express® Gold Card often gets compared to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card — as both are great options for travel and everyday purchases — but its $325 annual fee is more than 3 times higher (rates & fees).

Final Thoughts

The real beauty of Chase Ultimate Rewards points is their flexibility. You can instantly transfer points to a variety of airline and hotel loyalty programs, even if you’ve never flown with that airline or stayed with that hotel brand before.

Based on our valuations, 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points can easily be worth around $2,000 (or much more) in travel, and you can earn that amount from a single welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card right now. Given that this marks only the third time in the card’s history that a 100,000-point bonus offer has been available, it’s an opportunity that’s well worth considering before it disappears again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred card's 100,000-point welcome offer worth it?

Yes, as the standard welcome offer is just 75,000 points. As of June 2026, this is only the third time in history that the Chase Sapphire Preferred card has featured a 100,000-point welcome offer, so you’ll want to apply while the limited-time bonus offer is still available.

When did Chase Sapphire Preferred card last have a 100,000-point bonus offer?

Since 2009, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card has only had the 100,000-point welcome offer from June 2021 to October 2021, from April 2025 to May 2025, and finally, in June 2026. We don’t know how long the limited-time welcome offer will be available, but our best guess is no longer than a few months.

What's the best welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card?

The record-high welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card is 100,000 bonus points after meeting minimum spend requirements. Previous welcome offers ranged between 60,000 points and 80,000 points.

What's happening to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card's transfer partnership with Hyatt?

New cardholders on or after June 15, 2026, can transfer their points to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio.

Any existing Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders before June 15, 2026, can continue to transfer points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. However, starting on October 1, 2026, the transfer ratio to Hyatt will also become 4:3.

To put this into perspective, 10,000 Chase points will only turn into 7,500 Hyatt points — not 10,000 as previously available.
