Air Canada has announced that it will introduce nonstop service from Montreal (YUL) to Amsterdam (AMS) this summer.
The seasonal service connecting Canada’s second-largest city with the Dutch capital will inaugurate on June 3, 2023.
“We continue to see strong demand for travel to Europe and we are thrilled to increase service and add new, non-stop service between Montreal and Amsterdam for summer 2023, complementing our year-round service between Toronto and the Dutch capital,” said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Manager at Air Canada.
Here are the details of Air Canada’s exciting new European route.
Fly Nonstop From Montreal to Amsterdam With Air Canada
The seasonal service will operate five times per week — on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays — from June 3 through October 14, 2023.
Typically, seasonal service starts around the end of March to coincide with the shift from the winter to the summer schedule, so this later start could suggest that the idea for this route came on the later side to Air Canada’s network planners.
The schedule has been designed to line up well with Air Canada’s domestic network from Montreal and includes — as is typical — an overnight redeye across the Atlantic to Amsterdam:
The service will be operated by Air Canada’s fleet of Boeing 787-8 aircraft — the smaller of the carrier’s 2 Dreamliner variants.
The jets have a capacity of 255 passengers. There’s a small business class cabin containing just 20 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 recliner seats in premium economy in a 2-3-2 configuration, and finally 214 standard economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.
The best prices we’ve seen for round-trip economy fares are going for around $650 in October, right at the end of commercial aviation’s summer season.
The best business prices we’ve seen, on the other hand, can be found during the peak summer season — from July through August — and start from around $4,300 round-trip.
Hot Tip: You can maximize your bookings and travel with Air Canada with the Aeroplan® Credit Card. Some of the perks of the card include 3x points per $1 spent on Air Canada purchases, complimentary Aeroplan 25K elite status, and free checked bags.
Final Thoughts
Summer 2023 is just around the corner. And Air Canada is celebrating with a new route from Montreal to Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is a great city to explore, particularly in the summer, which makes Air Canada’s new route to the Dutch capital all the more appealing.
