One of the best parts of vacation is trying delicious foods in new cities and restaurants. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, the hotel you stay at has an on-site spot worth grabbing a bite.

A Michelin-starred restaurant can be a deciding factor in what hotel you pick for your vacation. After all, being a foodie is a lot easier when great food is just a few steps away. Here’s a list of U.S. hotels that are the home of or right next door to Michelin-starred restaurants.

Best Hotels With a Michelin-Starred Restaurant in the U.S.

1. 11 Howard, New York

Le Coucou

Starting Nightly Rate: $281

Designed with Danish minimalism in mind, New York’s 11 Howard offers guests the opportunity to experience old-money glamour and luxury in the Big Apple. That extends to the on-site French restaurant as well.

Le Coucou recently earned a Michelin star for its elegant cuisine and upscale setting. Guests love the restaurant’s cocktails, but it also serves a number of gourmet dishes at lunch and dinner, like lobster, duck, and veal.

Since the 11 Howard is located in NYC, it doesn’t have a lot of floor space to work with, but its rooms are still rather spacious, especially compared to the city’s other upscale hotels. You can grab drinks and small plates at the hotel bar, The Blond, especially after spending the day at the spa and wellness center.

How To Book: American Express® Gold Card members can receive a $100 property credit (including for dining charges) when booking a minimum of 2 nights at the 11 Howard through The Hotel Collection by Amex.

2. The Dominick, New York, New York

Vestry

Starting Nightly Rate: $478

The Dominick Hotel is one of the most luxurious lodging options in New York City. It’s the only independent hotel to have earned 5 stars from AAA.

Unsurprisingly, The Dominick’s on-site restaurant, Vestry, has also earned prestige. Known for its contemporary cuisine, especially seafood, the Michelin-starred restaurant is perfect for foodies. Dishes available at Vestry include oysters, lobster, and even caviar.

Reservations are required for the restaurant, though the bar is first come, first served. With enough advance notice, the space can be rented for private dinners and dining experiences. Each private dining area can hold between 15 and 40 people.

The restaurant and bar are only open at night and in the evening, so it’s not a lunch location. The dress code is smart casual.

How To Book: The Dominick Hotel is part of the Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts program. If you carry The Platinum Card® from American Express, you can take advantage of an annual $200 statement credit for stays at an Amex FHR property — even for a 1-night booking — while also enjoying additional perks and value offered through the program.
