Chase has an interesting promotion where you can save 10% when you redeem your points to buy gift cards from a variety of brands. But is this really the best way to use your points?

For a limited time, you can redeem 10% fewer Chase Ultimate Rewards points for gift cards from 18 brands. You can locate the sale by going into your Chase Ultimate Rewards account and selecting Shopping & Experiences, from which you can then choose the option to redeem points for gift cards.

While Chase provides gift cards for a variety of brands, not all of them are on sale. Only the following brands are available for 10% fewer points:

Keep in mind that gift cards can be delivered in 2 ways: via email or sent in the mail. So, if you want to buy gift cards as Christmas gifts for loved ones, a physical gift card may not arrive in the mail before December 25.
