Summer might just be getting started, but Delta is already looking forward to winter.

The Atlanta-based carrier has added 7 seasonal routes to its winter schedule, including 2 completely new routes from Austin, Texas, to Los Cabos, Mexico, and Raleigh, North Carolina, to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Starting on December 20, 2025, each service is to a destination in Mexico or the Caribbean where winter sun is guaranteed.

Let’s take a look at the details.

New Seasonal Routes

Austin to Los Cabos

Delta’s daily seasonal service from Austin (AUS) to Los Cabos (SJD) will run for a short period over the festive season from December 20, 2025, until January 5, 2026.

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines both already operate services on the route. As Austin is an important hub for American, it could be difficult for Delta to attract passengers on this niche route.

Hot Tip:

If you’re a frequent Delta flyer, you might want to consider a co-branded Delta credit card that rewards you with perks and benefits when you travel with the carrier.

Raleigh-Durham to San Juan

The new seasonal route connecting Raleigh/Durham (RDU) and San Juan (SJU) will run for a longer period between December 20, 2025, and February 28, 2026.

This time Delta will just have JetBlue as competition, which operates a daily service on the route.

Route Resumptions

Delta’s 5 route resumptions are from cities across the U.S. that are used to having harsh winters.

The seasonal services between Boston (BOS) and St. Thomas (STT) in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Detroit (DTW) and Grand Cayman (GCM) in the Cayman Islands, Indianapolis (IND) and Kansas City (MCI) and Cancun (CUN), Mexico, and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and Nassau (NAS), Bahamas, will provide other options for escaping to warmer climes.

Better still, Delta will become the only airline to offer nonstop service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Nassau and from Detroit to Grand Cayman.

Except for Boston to St. Thomas, which ended in May 2022, each of the resumed routes was canceled when the pandemic started in 2020.

Each service will restart on December 20, 2025, and will continue until either January or February.

Final Thoughts

Delta is hoping to capture the attention of those already planning ahead for 2025 winter travels.

While seasonal for now, the new and resumed routes could become permanent should they be a success.
