If you have some fall road trips planned, Hertz and Dollar are running a flash sale that could save you up to 25% on your next rental.

With only a 1-day minimum rental requirement and no car class requirements, this could be the sale you were waiting for in anticipation of an upcoming road trip.

Hertz & Dollar Flash Sale

Both Hertz and Dollar are offering a flash sale for fall rentals. With Dollar, you can save up to 20% on rentals, while Hertz is offering 25% off.

Regardless of the company you choose, you will need to make your reservation by September 5, 2024, and pick up your rental car by December 15, 2024, and use a specific promo code.

This sale is good at participating locations in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, and reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. The offer is valid for vehicle pick-up from August 23 through December 15, 2024, and only applies to the pay later base rate.

Is It Worth It?

While we always want to save some money, be sure to shop around and make sure you are getting the best deal.

We tested some sample bookings across the U.S., and while the 25% discount did apply, we were able to get similar or even better rates by using perks that come with some of our favorite travel credit cards.

For example, if you hold The Platinum Card^® from American Express, you can use code CDP #211762 to get a discounted rate year-round, plus a complimentary 4-hour grace period on returns.

However, if you dont hold the Amex Platinum card, this could be a great deal.
