New Iberia Routes to Orlando and Brazil

This coming winter, Iberia will expand its destination network by adding 3 new long-haul routes, the most interesting (and long-awaited) of which is a new route to Orlando from the airline’s Madrid hub.

Spain’s flagship carrier will provide nonstop service between Orlando (MCO) and Madrid (MAD) 4x per week, offering Orlando-based fliers a nonstop option to reach the Spanish capital, while those living in or around Madrid now have a direct flight to visit Walt Disney World Resort and other theme parks.

This route, pending government approval, will be operated by A330 aircraft with the following schedule:

“We are truly pleased to announce the opening of these three new routes next winter season,” said María Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s director of sales, customers, network development and alliances. “Thanks to our relationship with Disney Destinations, we believe Orlando can become the star destination for the upcoming Christmas season.”

This exciting new route is scheduled to start on October 26, 2025, and is already on sale.

In addition to the new nonstop service from Madrid to Orlando, Iberia will add 2 new routes to Brazil. Along with already-existing direct flights to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the airline will begin 3x weekly flights to Recife starting on December 13, 2025, and 4x weekly flights to Fortaleza from Madrid on January 19, 2026, increasing to 5x weekly in February. Both cities are in northern Brazil’s, famous for culture, food, and beaches, among other interests.

Both destinations will be served by the Airbus A321XLR, which Iberia introduced globally in November 2024. These narrow-body aircraft have a range of up to 4,600 miles and are among the most efficient aircraft on the market.
