San Antonio, Texas, just got a new luxury hotel — InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk is now open. This modern new hotel aims to attract both leisure and business travelers. It’s convenient for exploring San Antonio’s top attractions plus it has over 18,000 square feet of meeting space and is just 1 mile from Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Let’s explore what this new InterContinental hotel has to offer.

InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk Is Now Open

InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk is a new 390-room hotel located within walking distance to the Alamo (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Guests have direct access to a water taxi landing zone, so they can take advantage of all the riverwalk has to offer.

The InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk embodies the vibrant culture and rich heritage of San Antonio. Whether you’re a local seeking a cultivated retreat or a visitor eager to explore our city’s charms, the hotel’s luxury accommodations and amenities offer something for everyone.

This new IHG hotel features an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool, a 24-hour fitness center, on-site valet, a house car, and a Club InterContinental Lounge. Guest rooms have contemporary mid-century designs in a neutral color palette.

There are 4 restaurants and bars on the property.

  • Cavalier: An American brasserie serving creative dishes with farm-fresh ingredients.
  • Deco Bar: The lobby bar serves craft cocktails and small plates.
  • Rosebelly Coffee: This coffee shop serves locally roasted “What’s Brewing?” coffee, homemade pastries, and light bites.
  • High Praise: The hotel’s rooftop restaurant and bar will serve cocktails and small bites with live music on the weekends. (Opening later this month.)

How To Book InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk

Room rates are reasonable this summer and fall, starting around $240 per night (including taxes and fees). You’ll earn lots of IHG points if you pay with an IHG credit card.

For those wanting to book with IHG One Rewards points, rates start around 31,000 points in August and go up to 54,000 points per night this fall. Most of the dates we searched were under 50,000 points per night, which is great for an InterContinental hotel.
