A new Canadian airline has touched down in Orlando and the U.S. for the first time. Ultra-low-cost carrier Lynx Air inaugurated its first flight from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to the theme park capital of the world on Friday, January 27, 2023. “The choice of Orlando as our first US destination was easy – it is a very popular holiday spot for Canadians, with its famous theme parks, world-class golf, and great weather of course!” said Merren McArthur, CEO at Lynx. Here are the details of the newest transborder route.
Lynx Air Touches Down In Orlando
The fledgling carrier Lynx Air is already expanding into the U.S. after only taking wing for the first time 9 months ago. Flights operate once daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays until June when the Sunday service will come to an end before the seasonal service will terminate on August 30, 2023. The schedule is as follows:
With flights as low as $44 from Orlando to Toronto, it’s clear that Lynx takes its ultra-low-fare business model seriously. Lynx joins Air Canada, Air Transat, and WestJet as the fourth carrier operating nonstop service between Toronto and Orlando. Those wishing to escape the harsh Canadian winter cold will be able to do so from $126 return! As is commonly the case with ultra-low-cost airlines, Lynx operates just 1 type of aircraft — the Boeing 737 — and offers economy as the only cabin class.
Bottom Line:
As travel returns to levels that we were used to before the pandemic, Canadian start-up Lynx Air feels confident to take on the Canada to U.S. market despite tough competition from other Canadian airlines such as Air Canada, which also recently increased its transborder route network.
More U.S. Routes To Come
Orlando is just the start of Lynx’s venture into the U.S. with 3 more routes starting in February 2023 — this time from the airline’s western hub in Calgary:

Final Thoughts
There’s a new Canadian carrier in town bringing with it ultra-l0w-fares between Florida and Toronto. Here’s hoping that Lynx Air’s new service to Orlando gets off to a great start and it continues to expand its network to offer more ultra-low-fares to Canadians and Americans wishing to hop the border.
