National Free Rental Day Promotion Details

National Car Rental is offering Emerald Club members an opportunity to earn a complimentary car rental day (applicable to the base rate, time, and mileage only) by booking 2 eligible midsize or larger vehicle rentals worldwide for a minimum of 2 consecutive days between April 1 and June 22, 2025.

To obtain a complimentary rental day, you must first register for National’s ONE TWO FREE promotional offer, which you can do here. The promotion’s free rental days can only be used in the U.S. and Canada and will expire on Dec 31, 2025.

There are some important terms to note in this offer:

  • Must be an active Emerald Club member and register for the promotion.
  • Reserve and pick up your car between April 1 and June 22, 2025.
  • Emerald Club member must reside in the United States or Canada.
  • Eligible vehicle rentals must be between 2-7 consecutive days to receive the promotional free day.
  • No more than 3 promotional free days may be redeemed toward 1 rental of 3 or more days.
  • Promotional free days do not qualify for rental credits towards program free days but will qualify towards membership levels.

Is It Worth It?

A complimentary day from renting an eligible vehicle type twice for 2 days or more would be an attractive offer for those with upcoming travel plans considering National for their rental car needs. Additionally, you can earn the free day after just 4 rental days, which is fewer than what National requires for its highest tier Executive Elite members (typically 5 rental days).

However, to determine whether this is a solid deal worth taking advantage of, you should always compare rates from other car rental companies and see if the National Free Day promotion makes sense for you.
