Today, British Airways released renderings of its new first-class suite. This new product will be installed on the airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft by mid-2026.

This new British Airways first class has a slew of premium features, like a 32-inch 4K in-flight entertainment screen, a lie-flat seat with a 79-inch bed, and dedicated luggage storage for your carry-on bag.

Let’s take a closer look at what you have to look forward to with British Airways’ new first-class product.

New British Airways First Class Seat

As mentioned, British Airways said it will install these new first-class seats on its Airbus A380 aircraft by mid-2026. It’s unclear if British Airways will retrofit this new first class seat on its other long-haul aircraft as well.

These new suites will be introduced in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each seat will have a privacy door and a 60-inch curved wall that gives travelers more privacy in the air. Seats are 36.5 inches wide and 79 inches long in the lie-flat position.

Inside each suite, you’ll find a 32-inch TV, ambient mood lighting, 3 windows with blinds, and a do-not-disturb function that lets flight attendants know when you’re trying to sleep. Travelers can control these features with a wireless tablet.

Those traveling in middle seats can slide open a privacy divider to chat with their travel companion. And thanks to its stowable tables, you can dine with your travel companion inside of your suite. This is a big perk for couples traveling together or colleagues who want to meet over an inflight meal.

One of the most interesting features, however, is a dedicated place for each first-class passenger to stow their luggage. This space can accommodate a carry-on bag and a sportcoat, jacket, or other item of clothing on a hanger.

This new first-class cabin is aesthetically pleasing, with dark colors and mood lighting throughout. British Airways said it took inspiration from its former Concorde aircraft and designed it to “provide the feel of a modern luxury hotel.”

Final Thoughts

British Airways’ new first class suite should take to the skies in 2026 when the airline retrofits its Airbus A380 fleet. It’s an exciting new product, with an all-new design and interesting features like dedicated luggage storage and a wireless tablet that controls the seat.

We hope that other British Airways planes will get this new first class too. It’s safe to assume the product will be installed on the airline’s Boeing 777-9 aircraft when delivered, but this has not been announced.
