The opening of one of the coolest hotels in Hyatt’s portfolio has been pushed back several times. We’re talking about the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, a luxury property opening in Malaysia’s chic new skyscraper.

However, there’s some good news, as the hotel is now accepting reservations for its 2025 debut. Let’s take a look at the hotel and how you can book with cash or Hyatt points.

Details of the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will be located in the Merdeka 118 skyscraper — the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific. But we should clarify that it won’t just be “in” the Merdeka 118. No, this hotel will occupy the top 17 floors of this monolith. That means all elements of the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will be at least 100 stories up.

The Merdeka 118 opened in January 2024 and is 2,227 feet tall. When announcing its 2024 hotel openings, Hyatt said it planned to open the Park Hyatt here around the same time.

After arriving on the ground floor, guests will ascend to the Park Hyatt’s reception facilities to check in. The hotel will hold 232 rooms, including 28 suites and 30 residential apartments.

The hotel will have a spa, a pool, event facilities, and several food and beverage outlets. Executive Chef Stig Drageide and Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh will head up these offerings, according to The Malaysian Reserve.

Hotel designs also show open layouts in the guest rooms and suites to maximize space.

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur was originally set to open in 2021, then that date was pushed back to the end of 2024. Now, the hotel is finally accepting reservations for late June 2025, giving us an opening date we’ve been waiting for quite a long time.

You can see additional renderings and photos of the hotel here.

Booking the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur on Points

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is accepting reservations from June 23, 2025. The hotel is listed as a Category 5 property on the World of Hyatt website, meaning standard rates will cost 20,000 points per night.

With Hyatt’s peak and off-peak pricing, you may pay as few as 17,000 points per night or as much as 23,000 points.

Previously, the hotel was listed as a Category 4 property, which means it’s now out of reach for bookings using Category 1-4 free night awards. That change is disappointing.

If paying cash, expect rates around $315 per night for a standard room, which can include 1 king or 2 twin beds. Other rooms cost more as they gain space and features, and the Park Suite is available for $600 per night, on average.

Hot Tip:

Paying 20,000 points to save $315 provides a value of nearly 1.6 cents per point — slightly above our valuation of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each. This is a good opportunity for redeeming Hyatt points.

Final Thoughts

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur looks incredible, and it’s now accepting reservations for the latter part of June 2025. Room rates start around $315 per night or 20,000 Hyatt points during standard dates.
