Getting your caffeine fix onboard a Southwest flight is going to taste a little different from August 13, 2025.

The Dallas-headquartered, ultra-low-cost carrier has announced a new partnership with much-loved Californian coffee brand Peet’s Coffee.

“A great cup of coffee goes a long way in creating a comfortable and enjoyable flight — and it’s just one part of our broader effort to elevate our Customers’ journey with us,” said Tony Roach, executive vice president of customer and brand at Southwest Airlines.

Let’s take a sip.

Southwest and Peet’s Coffee Partnership

Coffee-loving Southwest Airlines flyers will be excited to learn that, starting August 13, Peet’s Coffee will provide their in-flight hot beverages.

The brand, which originated in Berkeley, California, is excited to debut its “Off the Grid” blend on Southwest flights very soon. While Peet’s is already available in some U.S. airports, this will be the first time that Peet’s has teamed up with an airline to serve its coffee in the sky.

The medium roast coffee is a blend of fruity Colombian beans mixed with a hint of El Salvadorian caramelized sweetness.

To celebrate Peet’s new sky-high coffee, Southwest and Peet’s will be hosting an immersive event at Peet’s on East 8th Street in Chicago on August 15 and 16.

“This partnership introduces the Peet’s experience to millions of new consumers as part of their daily ritual in a way that’s personal and meaningful,” said Eric Lauterbach, president and CEO at Peet’s Coffee.

You’ll also find Peet’s coffee in 25 U.S. airports where Southwest has a large presence, including Denver (DEN), Houston (HOU), and Phoenix (PHX).

Southwest’s new partnership with Peet’s Coffee will see the Californian brand’s coffee replace Community Coffee, which has been served on Southwest flights since 2016.

Hot Tip:

The arrival of Peet’s Coffee on Southwest flights comes at a time of significant changes for the airline that are part of a major shake-up of its business model. The carrier has said goodbye to its famed free checked-bag policy, scrapped unassigned seating, and updated the perks, benefits, and annual fees of its Chase co-branded credit cards.

Final Thoughts

Southwest’s new partnership with Peet’s Coffee is likely to be welcome news for those passengers who appreciate good coffee. It’s great to see Southwest partner with alternative brands, rather than the likes of Dunkin’ or Starbucks. Take note, Delta.
