Bad news for those with Capital One’s 2 most premium credit cards: the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit CardInformation collected independently. Not reviewed by Capital One. and Capital One Venture X Business CardInformation collected independently. Not reviewed by Capital One. will lose Plaza Premium lounge access on March 1, 2025.

Plaza Premium lounge pages on Capital One’s website note that cardmembers will lose access to the lounge network in March. Some members have also received notice in their monthly credit card statements. Thankfully, many Plaza Premium lounges are a part of Priority Pass, which is also included with the Capital One Venture X card and Capital One Venture X Business card. That means you’ll still be able to access many, but not all, of these lounges.

Here’s what you need to know about the change.

Capital One Venture X Card and Venture X Business Card To Lose Plaza Premium Lounge Access

As mentioned, the Capital One Venture X card and Capital One Venture X Business card will lose Plaza Premium lounge access on March 1, 2025. This change was communicated to members on Plaza Premium lounge pages on Capital One’s website.

Some members also received a notice on their monthly credit card statements.

Thankfully, many Plaza Premium lounges are accessible with Priority Pass, a benefit of both cards. There are some exceptions, though, such as locations in Brazil and Colombia, among others.

Accessing Plaza Premium lounges with Priority Pass has more restrictions than accessing them directly with an eligible Capital One or American Express card. For example, you can only access Plaza Premium for 2 hours with Priority Pass, as opposed to 3 hours when you access the lounge directly with an eligible credit card.

Further, you may have to pay to use showers in Plaza Premium lounges when accessing the lounge with Priority Pass. This is not the case when you use an eligible Capital One or American Express card to access the lounge.

You must present your Priority Pass membership card (physical card or through the mobile app) to access all lounges in the network, including participating Plaza Premium lounges. You can request a Priority Pass card through the benefits page on your Capital One online account.

As noted, many Plaza Premium lounges are accessible with a Priority Pass membership, which is included (after enrollment) with the Venture X cards. Interestingly, Plaza Premium lounges left Priority Pass in June 2021. Then, Plaza Premium lounges rejoined Priority Pass in 2023. Time will tell if Plaza Premium lounges remain linked to Priority Pass.

It’s worth noting that American Express cards with Plaza Premium access — namely, The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express — have not had Plaza Premium lounge access removed or otherwise changed.

Bottom Line:

The Capital One Venture X Business card and Capital One Venture X card will lose direct access to Plaza Premium lounges on March 1, 2025. However, many of these lounges participate in Priority Pass, so you should still be able to access them — though with some pared-down benefits at certain locations.

Final Thoughts

It’s unfortunate to see the Capital One Venture X card and Capital One Venture X Business card lose Plaza Premium access. While many lounges are still accessible with both card’s Priority Pass membership, more restrictions apply. You can spend less time in the lounge and may have to pay for showers.

The information regarding the Capital One Venture X Business Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
