You’ve just opened a new Capital One credit card, enticed by earning a generous welcome offer — like 75,000 miles after spending $4,000 in the first few months. Now you’re wondering, “How much have I already spent? How much more do I need to go? And what’s my deadline?”

Capital One makes monitoring your welcome offer progress in the mobile app easy, though keeping track in your online account may prove more challenging.

Here’s how to check your progress toward a Capital One credit card welcome offer and stay on track to earn your valuable reward.

Using the Capital One Mobile App To Track Your Progress

Checking your progress toward earning a Capital One credit card welcome offer is easiest in the Capital One mobile app (iOSAndroid).

Once you log in to your account on the mobile app, select the card you want to track your welcome offer on. Then, scroll down past your scheduled payments, expected transactions, and recent transactions sections.

After that, you’ll see your welcome offer tracker. It shows essential information, including:

  • The bonus amount
  • How much you’ve spent
  • How much spending you have left to go
  • Your deadline to earn the bonus

This section also offers links to add your card to various online wallets so you can easily use the card for payments everywhere.

For example, here’s my progress toward earning a 75,000-mile bonus with the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which requires spending $4,000 within 3 months.

In this example, I’ve spent $1,197.65 of the $4,000 I need to spend to earn 75,000 Capital One miles. It also shows my deadline for earning the bonus, which indicates I have until August 20, 2025 to spend about $2,800 more.

Hot Tip:

Deadlines can sneak up on you. We recommend setting a calendar reminder a few weeks before your deadline to check in on your progress so you’re not scrambling to spend at the last minute.

After you’ve spent enough to earn the welcome offer, the tracker is replaced with a congratulations message. The updated box will indicate that your bonus is ready and include the number of miles — 75,000 in this case — that are ready to redeem. Underneath it, you’ll find a link to redeem your rewards, which directs you to the rewards section of the app.

Hot Tip:

Although Capital One helps you stay on top of your bonus requirements, it’s helpful to keep your own records. When you apply for a new Capital One card, screenshot the bonus as you apply so you can have notes on the spending requirement and how long you have to earn it.

Capital One Online Accounts Don’t Track Bonuses

Capital One’s mobile app makes bonus tracking easy, but there’s not a simple bonus tracker in your Capital One online account. However, you can get the same information if you look at your spending information.

You can check your spending by logging in to your online account, then navigating to “View Spend Insights” beneath the “Shopping Offers” bar.

In your spending insights, you can select a date range. If you’re looking at how much you’ve spent, you should start with the date you opened the account and select up to the current date to see how much you’ve spent so far.

Although your online account tells you how much you’ve spent, it doesn’t detail your bonus offer. It’s up to you to check your notes on your welcome offer details, including how much you need to spend and how long you have to earn the offer.

Hot Tip:

If you’re unsure of any information, such as when you opened the account, how much your welcome offer is worth, how much you need to spend, or how long you have to earn the bonus, you can chat with Capital One in the app or in your online account for clarification.

Final Thoughts

Tracking your welcome offer is simple in the Capital One mobile app, but the same can’t be said for Capital One online accounts. However, you can track your spending online. Even if you prefer to manage your account from a desktop, check the app periodically as your bonus deadline approaches to make sure you’re on track.

The Capital One mobile app updates your welcome offer progress daily, but this can vary depending on pending transactions. If you’re close to the deadline and not sure you’ve spent enough, it’s a good idea to verify exact numbers with Capital One.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I track my Capital One welcome offer progress?

The best place to track your Capital One welcome offer progress is in the Capital One mobile app. Select your card, scroll past transactions, and look for the banner labeled “Track your [bonus] miles.” The bonus tracker updates daily with your most recent spending.

What happens when you complete the required spending?

Once you’ve met the spending requirement, your tracker will change to a congratulations banner, indicating that you’ve completed the bonus and offering an option to redeem your rewards.

Can I track my bonus spending on the Capital One website?

You can’t directly track your bonus spending on the Capital One website. The website doesn’t show a welcome offer tracker, but it does offer spending insights that can show you a breakdown of your recent purchases.

Do all purchases count toward a Capital One welcome offer?

No, not all purchases count toward your Capital One welcome offers. Balance transfers, cash advances, interest, and fees don’t count.

How long does it take for Capital One miles to post after earning a welcome offer?

After you meet the spending requirement, your bonus miles typically post after your next statement closes — though you may see them sooner than that. First, you’ll see a confirmation banner in the app, then the miles will be available for redemption within a few days of your statement date.
