The Epic Pass, one of the most common ski season passes, is now on sale for the 2025-2026 season, with an interesting expansion for next year.

Let’s see what’s new.

What’s in the 2025-2026 Epic Pass?

The Epic Pass is the most inclusive of the major season passes, which also include the Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective.

The standard Epic Pass is now on sale for the 2025-2026 season for $1,051, or $537 for children ages 5 to 12.

That’s up from $909 last year, but a season pass can still be a good deal for people who ski enough to get value from the pass. With a daily lift ticket costing as much as $312, which is what you’d pay normally in Park City, Utah, an approximately $1,000 pass that grants access to dozens of resorts may make sense, even for casual skiers.

The 2025-2026 Epic Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted access to 42 mountain resorts owned by Vail Resorts all over the U.S., Canada, and further afield. Those include Vail and Breckenridge in Colorado, Park City in Utah, Stowe in Vermont, and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, to name just the most famous.

There’s also the Epic Local Pass ($783 adults; $407 children), which provides unlimited, unrestricted access to 29 resorts, plus others with some restrictions.

Another option is the Epic Day Pass, which lets skiers (and snowboarders!) build their own pass, choosing the number of days, resort access, and whether to include peak dates. This can be an attractive option for people who don’t need the firepower of a full Epic Pass or even a Local Pass.

Given the prices of lift tickets these days, the Epic Day Pass can offer exceptional value. For 7 days at 22 resorts with blackout dates, the daily cost comes out to $47. That is a really good deal.

Overseas, Epic Pass holders can ski in Japan and 26 resorts in Europe, among others. And that’s where the new feature of next season’s Epic Pass comes in.

More Skiing With the Epic Pass in Switzerland

A new feature this year, Vail Resorts announced, is that Epic Pass is expanding access to Verbier 4 Vallées in Switzerland. That is interesting because Verbier is the largest ski area in the country, with 250 miles of runs over 6 resorts spanning 4 valleys.

The town of Verbier is also an easy train ride from the Geneva Airport (GVA), which has nonstop flights from New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), and Washington-Dulles (IAD). For Americans who want the experience of skiing in Europe, it’s a solid choice, and its location in the Northwest quadrant of the Alps pretty much guarantees snowy winters.

All Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass holders now have 5 days of consecutive, unrestricted access to Verbier resorts. (Epic Local Pass will have some blackout dates.)

Hot Tip:

Depending on where you live or where you ski most often, either the Ikon Pass or the Mountain Collective pass may make more sense for you. Check out our Ultimate Guide to Season Ski Passes Around the World, which will help you make a choice.

Final Thoughts

The Epic Pass is now on sale for the 2025-2026 season, and if you’re a skier or snowboarder, you should seriously consider a season pass.

With the price of lift tickets having gone through the roof, a season pass like the Epic Pass or its competitors Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective may make sense, even if you ski or ride just a few days a year.
