As we near the halfway point of the year, Air Canada is looking ahead and adding 3 new routes to its winter schedule.

“Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations will offer a multitude of travel options and increased frequencies from airports across Canada so customers can conveniently reach popular winter sun destinations,’ said Mark Galardo, executive vice president or revenue and network planning at Air Canada. “These flights are already available for sale and customers can make their winter travel plans now.”

Here’s where Air Canada’s new routes could take you this winter.

Air Canada’s New Routes for Winter 2024/25

This coming winter, Canadians will have more destinations to pick from when planning their escape from the bitterly long winter thanks to new Air Canada routes.

The first new route, which will commence on November 17 with a once-per-week service from Montréal (YUL) to Sint Maarten (SXM).

Shortly after, in December, Air Canada will launch 2 nonstop services to Tulum’s new airport (TQO) from Québec (YQB) and Ottawa (YOW). The carrier will be the only airline to operate service to Tulum from those Canadian cities.

“Air Canada continues to expand the breadth of its winter leisure network by adding new routes to in-demand leisure destinations, including Saint Maarten and Tulum,” said Galardo.

Air Canada will also extend its summer route from Montréal to Tulum with up to 5 weekly flights.

Hot Tip:

When booking flights with Air Canada, it’s always worth checking points availability through the airline’s Aeroplan frequent flyer program. If paying cash is your only option, then we recommend using a travel rewards credit card such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve® which could earn you up to 4x points per $1 spent.

Final Thoughts

Air Canada is reminding us that winter will be upon us before we know it. The addition of a new route to Sint Maarten and the 2 unique services to Tulum will be greatly appreciated by those planning to escape to warmer weather this coming winter.
