Air Canada is setting the stage for another ambitious summer, and this time the spotlight is on a host of new destinations that will bring even more options to Canadian travelers.

Fresh off the heels of announcing its very first Airbus A321XLR route from Montreal to Mallorca, the airline is back in the headlines, announcing a global expansion plan that underscores its intent to keep pace with both leisure and business demand.

Now, the Canadian carrier is launching service to new destinations in Sicily, Budapest, Shanghai, and Bangkok, as well as increased frequencies to Prague.

Air Canada’s New Routes for Summer 2026

The 2026 summer season is shaping up to be a busy one for Air Canada, as it’s adding several new routes across Europe, Asia, and beyond. While some carriers are scaling back, Air Canada is leaning into expansion.

The network additions include a mix of well-established leisure hotspots and emerging business corridors, underscoring the airline’s dual focus on both vacationers looking for sun and culture and corporate travelers seeking efficient connections. This is in line with Air Canada’s recent strategy: balance the fun with the functional, and make sure there’s something in the schedule for every type of passenger.

Including yesterday’s announcement of Air Canada’s first destination using the Airbus A321XLR plane, which will fly to Mallorca, Spain, the new routes include:

Additionally, Air Canada will increase service between Toronto and Prague (PRG). During the peak summer period in 2026, this route will see 4 weekly flights — up from the 3 the airline offered during summer 2025.

By offering these new nonstop connections, Air Canada is signaling confidence not just in transatlantic demand but also in markets where it hasn’t had a significant presence before.

That confidence isn’t a fluke. The airline has been steadily building momentum since 2023, and the addition of the A321XLR to its fleet gives it more flexibility than ever. With the Mallorca launch next summer already grabbing attention, these new routes aren’t much of a surprise.

Hot Tip:

These flights are now available for sale at AirCanada.com. Rather than paying cash, redeeming points with the Aeroplan program can help you save money on your next trip.

Final Thoughts

Air Canada’s latest network expansion is more than just a list of new cities. It also reflects the airline’s future vision of itself.

Coming right after the buzz of the A321XLR debut to Mallorca, this summer 2026 announcement signals that Air Canada is ready to leverage its growing fleet and tap into demand across continents. For travelers, it means more nonstop options, greater flexibility, and fewer compromises when planning the next trip.
