Air France is adding one-time, nonstop flights between the French and U.S. cinema and movie hubs.

On Monday, May 13, Air France will fly overnight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Nice (NCE) to bring passengers to the Cannes Film Festival, with the return leg departing exactly 2 weeks later. Here are the details of this special flight.

Air France Connects Hollywood With Cannes

The Cannes Film festival is a big deal for directors, producers, actors, and pretty much everyone involved in the industry. However, its location in the South of France isn’t usually the easiest to get to from the U.S. — especially from the West Coast.

To facilitate travel for this year’s event (May 14-25, 2024), Air France has scheduled 2 special flights connecting the movie meccas: one from Hollywood to Cannes the day before the festival starts and another back to Hollywood once all the glitz and glam is over.

The outbound flight will operate on Monday, May 13, with the following schedule.

  • Depart Los Angeles (LAX) 1:15 p.m. — Arrive Nice (NCE) 9:30 a.m. (+1)

The French flag carrier has scheduled the return flight for Monday, May 27, leaving an entire day for those celebrating on the final evening before flying home.

  • Depart Nice (NCE) 1:55 p.m. — Arrive Los Angeles (LAX) 5:05 p.m.

The route will operated by one of the airline’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft. After taking a peek at the seat map for the aircraft, we can see that this jet is indeed one of the airline’s retrofitted A350s, boasting its latest version of business class.

Seats up front in business class for this particular service are set at movie star-rates with a round-trip fare, coming in at an eye-watering $19,000!

On the other hand, an economy seat is a lot more affordable at around $864. Compared to other one-stop alternatives, Air France’s special one-time service is a very good value option.

Hot Tip:

Air France is a member of SkyTeam — the same airline alliance as Delta. For those with Delta elite status, this means certain perks and benefits are reciprocated when flying with Air France.

Final Thoughts

The addition of a nonstop service from Los Angeles to Nice this Spring will greatly benefit those looking to get to the Cannes Film Festival via commercial air. If you’ve been considering a visit, we’d advise snapping up a ticket ASAP, as there are only a very limited number of seats available for these special flights!
