Bonjour, Phoenix!

Air France is set to make its debut at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) this spring with its inaugural flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) on May 23, 2024.

Let’s take a look at the details of this new route.

Fly Nonstop From Phoenix to Paris With Air France

Air France’s latest U.S. route network expansion brings the announcement of Phoenix, Arizona, to its list of growing destinations.

This is huge news for Phoenix and its surrounding area as Air France will become the first and only carrier to operate nonstop service between Arizona and France.

Not only that, but the addition of Paris means Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) will soon have 5 total international destinations, joining existing routes to Canada, Germany, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

The route will operate 3 times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the following schedule:

  • Depart Paris (CDG) 10:10 a.m. — Arrive Phoenix (PHX) 12:10 p.m.
  • Depart Phoenix (PHX) 2:10 p.m. — Arrive Paris (CDG) 9:15 a.m. (+1)

The addition of Phoenix increases the count of U.S. cities with nonstop Air France flights to Paris to 17. With that, the French flag carrier is the third largest European airline by number of U.S. destinations, just after British Airways and Lufthansa.

Air France will deploy its fleet of state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 30 business class seats, a small premium economy cabin with 21 seats, and 228 standard economy seats.

Tickets aren’t on sale, so we’re unable to give examples of fares just yet. However, to get an idea of what you might expect, the cheapest economy round-trip ticket between Paris and Los Angeles (a flight of similar distance) comes in at $808.

Hot Tip:

If you’re the kind of person who prefers to use points than cash when booking a flight, it’s easier to book Air France using miles than you might think — even if you’re based in the U.S. and don’t have any Flying Blue miles.

Final Thoughts

Air France’s first flight between Paris and Phoenix will take to the skies just in time for the start of the busy summer travel period. The new service will also bring more competition on existing Phoenix flights to Europe.

Not only will the route likely prove popular as the only nonstop service to the French capital, Air France’s expansive route network from Paris will also provide excellent onward connection possibilities.
