The low-cost South Korean airline Air Premia is back with some exciting news. The airline is expanding its U.S. presence with 2 new routes, and it plans to grow its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Here’s what you need to know.

Air Premia Growing U.S. Presence

Air Premia says it plans to start nonstop flights from Honolulu (HNL) and Seattle (SEA), bringing its U.S. route network to 5. It’s unclear when these routes will begin, as the flights are not yet available on airpremia.com.

Additionally, the airline will begin nonstop flights from its Seoul (ICN) hub to Vietnam’s Da Nang (DAD) and Hong Kong (HKG) in early 2025. Flight start at $75 one-way to Hong Kong, and $99 to Da Nang.

If you haven’t heard of Air Premia, it’s an airline you should pay close attention to — especially if you’re on the hunt for cheap flights to Asia.

Air Premia is a new low-cost airline that began operations in August 2021.

The airline currently serves 3 destinations in the U.S.: Newark (EWR), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO), offering nonstop flights to its hub, Seoul. From ICN, passengers can connect to other Asian destinations, such as Bangkok (BKK), Hong Kong, Tokyo (NRT), and Da Nang.

Air Premia’s flights are considerably cheaper than U.S. or Asian airlines, thanks to its status as a budget airline.

For instance, a nonstop flight in premium economy between San Francisco and Seoul starts at just $1,560 round-trip next April. By comparison, United Airlines is selling premium economy on the same route and the same dates for over $3,000.

Air Premia Expands Fleet

Air Premia flies a fleet of all Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners — and more are on the way.

The airline announced that it would add its sixth Dreamliner, with 3 more on order for 2025.

The Dreamliners will have a 344-seat configuration. These include 35 premium economy seats offering a 46-inch seat pitch and 309 economy seats with 31 inches of pitch. Air Premia says it plans to increase the economy seat pitch to 33 inches.

“Fleet expansion is crucial for growth in the aviation industry,” said Seung-shin Park, head of public relations at Air Premia. “We are developing a balanced route portfolio to enhance both customer convenience and profitability.”

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news, especially for travelers on the West Coast. Air Premia offers some of the most competitive flights between the U.S. and Asia, and itoffers one of the best premium economy products from a low-cost airline. 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Air Premia!
