Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Alaska Airlines is teaming up with Mountain Collective to offer bonus miles and extra perks for MileagePlan members. The passes are great to use during the winter in the height of ski season and are valid at a number of resorts.

Let’s take a look at this year’s offers.

Alaska Airlines and Mountain Collective Offer

When you purchase a Mountain Collective ski pass as an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan member, you will receive 5,000 bonus Mileage Plan miles after your purchase as well as a third free day at any one of the following resorts:

  • Alta Ski Area
  • Arapahoe Basin
  • Aspen Snowmass
  • Valle Nevado
  • Banff Sunshine
  • Taos Ski Valley
  • Big Sky Resort
  • Sun Valley Resort
  • Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
  • Coronet Peak
  • Sun Peaks Resort
  • Grand Targhee
  • Sugarloaf
  • Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
  • Sugar Bowl
  • Lake Louise
  • Le Massif
  • Marmot Basin
  • Snowbird
  • Mt Buller
  • Snowbasin
  • Niseko United
  • Panorama
  • Revelstoke Mountain Resort

You’ll need to purchase your pass through Alaska’s dedicated website, where you’ll be immediately prompted to select the resort where you want to redeem your third free day. All passes appear to cost $659, which includes the 2 days of access at each park, 50% off additional lift tickets, discounts on select lodging, as well as the third free day at a park of your choosing — plus the bonus miles provided by Alaska.

This offer is only valid through November 4, 2024. The offer is unfortunately not valid for those with a current pass.

If you’re an Alaska MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K, or MVP Gold 100K elite member, you’ll receive an additional 5,000 miles for your purchase, for a total of 10,000 miles. This is a nice chunk of miles if you’re a regular skier who would ordinarily purchase a package like this.

You’ll obviously need to price out your trip to see if purchasing a Mountain Collective pass makes sense for you, but with 3 free days of skiing/snowboarding at numerous parks for $659, it could make sense in a lot of cases, as ski resort access passes are typically very expensive. In addition, the Mountain Collective pass includes some international resorts as well, so it will allow you to ski in a wide variety of places around the world.

For context, we value 10,000 Alaska miles at $160.

Hot Tip:

Before you leave for your trip, check out our guide to the airlines’ policies on skis and snowboards.

Final Thoughts

If you’re into skiing or snowboarding, check out this offer from Alaska Airlines and Mountain Collective. You’ll earn a third free day of skiing and additional bonus miles for your purchase.
