The Dominican Republic is an immensely popular Caribbean destination, known for numerous all-inclusive resorts, especially in the area of Punta Cana.

Back in 2022, Marriott announced the beginning of construction on a brand-new W hotel in the popular resort destination. Now, that property is open for reservations for guests arriving on or after April 15.

Let’s take a look at all the details.

W All-Inclusive Punta Cana Uvero Alto To Have 300+ Rooms

Marriott previously entered into an agreement with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels for an adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. The resort will be called the W All-Inclusive Punta Cana Uvero Alto and will have nearly 350 rooms and suites.

Some rooms will have balconies and plunge pools. The resort will also feature an 11-room spa, 3 pools, and 11 food and beverage options.

This new Punta Cana property will join just 4 other W properties in the Caribbean and Central America and will become the first all-inclusive W resort in the world.

Guests can stay at this new property as of April 15, 2025.

Punta Cana is the perfect destination for both the W Hotels brand and an all-inclusive luxury resort,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott’s chief development officer for the Caribbean and Latin America, said in a statement.

There is no shortage of luxury hotels in the Dominican Republic, and this new W will join 9 other high-end Marriott properties in the Punta Cana region. That includes the St. Regis Cap Cana, which is also accepting reservations from April 15.

How To Book

You can book stays at the W All-Inclusive Punta Cana Uvero Alto using cash or Marriott Bonvoy points. Rates at this adults-only property start at $1,900 for April and May — the first 2 months after the hotel opens. However, rates drop significantly in June 2025, and you can find stays from $616 per night.

If you’re redeeming Marriott points, you’ll need 233,000 of them for a night at the W All-Inclusive Punta Cana during the first few months after opening. That drops to 137,000 points per night in June.

That’s not a great redemption value, unfortunately. We value Marriott points at 0.7 cents apiece, but you’ll get just 0.45 cents per point on these award redemptions.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news for Marriott Bonvoy loyalists who want another option to earn and spend their points in the Caribbean.

It is even more significant because the adults-only W Punta Cana will become one of the first all-inclusive W hotel in a market where Marriott is sure to excel. Bookings are open for stays as of April 15, 2025.
