American Airlines Adds Charlotte to Québec City Seasonal Route

American Airlines is launching a brand-new seasonal service from Charlotte to Canada this summer.

On Saturday, August 10, Québec City (YQB) will welcome its first-ever flight from American’s hub at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

“We’re excited to be connecting Québec City and Charlotte as we continue expanding our global footprint, providing travelers from all corners of the globe with more opportunities to explore,” said José Freig, vice president of international operations at American Airlines.

Fly American Nonstop Between Charlotte and Québec City

American’s new transborder service from Charlotte to Québec has been scheduled for a limited time of just a couple of months between August 10 and November 2.

The seasonal service will operate just once per week on Saturdays with the following schedule:

Depart Charlotte (CLT) 9:10 a.m. — Arrive Quebec City (YQB) 11:45 a.m.
Depart Quebec City (YQB) 12:25 p.m. — Arrive Charlotte (CLT) 2:55 p.m.

There’s a chance that the short timeframe could be extended should the route prove to be a success.

This route will be operated by American’s fleet of Canadair RJ900 regional jets, which have just 76 seats — 9 in first class and the rest in economy in a 2-2 configuration.

Hot Tip:

The best economy seats on an American Airlines CRJ900 are Main Cabin Extra seats 4A and 5C. 4A is a single seat, so you’ll have no seatmate, and seat 5C has no seat in front, so it has an abundance of legroom.

Surprisingly, American’s new service from Charlotte will become only the sixth nonstop service between Québec and the U.S. As Charlotte is a busy hub for American Airlines, the route will mean new travel opportunities for Americans wishing to visit Québec (and vice versa) on the airline’s wide-reaching network.

“Charlotte is a wonderful destination and a key hub for our network, so we look forward to adding Québec to its growing roster of destinations as we further connect Canada and the United States,” said Freig.
