Here’s how it works.

How To Get Complimentary World of Hyatt Status

From today, American Airlines AAdvantage elite status holders who have linked their account with their World of Hyatt membership can register for the promotion. AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum Pro members are eligible for the promotion.

Your World of Hyatt and AAdvantage accounts must be linked prior to registering for the offer.

Whether you’re starting out with AAdvantage Gold status or have top-of-the-chain Executive Platinum Pro, AAdvantage members will receive 90 days of the same Hyatt’s Explorist status, Hyatt’s second-highest elite status level.

Registration runs until October 31, 2025, and will instantly trigger Hyatt Explorist status.

During the 90-day period, members will also have the chance to complete a qualifying activity that will either extend their new Explorist status or even earn them Hyatt’s top-level Globalist status until February 2027.

To keep Explorist status through February 2027, members must stay at least 10 qualifying nights at Hyatt properties within the 90-day trial period. To upgrade to top-level Globalist status, a total of 20 qualifying nights would be needed.

Hot Tip:

It is worth waiting to register until any Hyatt stay you have booked is within 90 days, as that’s how long the complimentary elite status will last.

Explorist status comes with a host of benefits such as a complimentary daily bottle of water, dedicated check-in area at hotels, late checkout of 2 p.m. when available at participating hotels, upgrades to the best available room (excluding suites), and more. These are some of the tangible benefits you can enjoy simply by linking your accounts and registering for the promotion.

If you’re wondering whether it’s worth staying 20 nights to upgrade to Globalist status, it’s often known as one of the best hotel status levels in the industry. In addition to the perks of Explorist status, Globalist comes with later 4 p.m. checkouts, upgrades to the best room available (including standard suites), free daily breakfast, club lounge access, and more!

Final Thoughts

You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain simply by linking your American Airlines AAdvantage and World of Hyatt accounts. A couple more clicks to register for the promotion, and you’ll be enjoying complimentary Explorist status before you know it.
