For anyone who’s ever wanted to send Delta SkyMiles to a friend or family member but balked at the fees, American Express has an offer worth a look.

Through a targeted Amex Offer, you can earn up to $330 in statement credits to cover the cost of transferring SkyMiles to another account. It sounds generous, and the credit is real.

Whether you should actually use it is a different question, and we’ll get to that.

What Are Amex Offers?

Amex Offers are targeted deals that show up in your American Express online account or app, tied to specific cards you hold. You add an offer to your card, use that same card at the qualifying merchant, and Amex provides a statement credit or bonus points after the purchase posts. They’re personalized and targeted, so not every cardholder sees the same offers.

We’ve rounded up the best current Amex Offers, including travel, dining, entertainment, and more.

New Amex Offer for Delta SkyMiles Transfer Fees

This Amex Offer provides up to $330 in statement credits when you use your enrolled card to transfer Delta SkyMiles to another person’s SkyMiles account. You have to add the offer to your card first, then complete the transfer online at delta.com/marketplace/transfer-miles by November 14, 2026. The credit is capped at $330 per cardmember account, and it only covers the transfer fees themselves, not the purchase of miles, gifting, or donating.

Delta charges 1 cent per mile transferred plus a $30 processing fee per transaction. You can move between 1,000 and 30,000 miles per transaction in 1,000-mile increments, and a single transaction can include up to 4 recipients. There’s an annual cap of 150,000 miles you can transfer out of an account and 300,000 miles you can deposit into an account per year.

The receiving account has to have existed for at least 10 days and earned at least 1 posted mile.

Using those numbers, a single transfer of 30,000 miles costs $300 in per-mile fees plus the $30 processing charge, which costs at exactly $330 and maxes out the credit in a single transaction.

How Transfers Work, and Why This Probably Isn’t Worth It

Transferring is simple. You log in, choose how many miles to move and who receives them, pay the fees with your enrolled Amex card, and the miles land in the other account. On paper, this Amex Offer offsets that free up to $330.

But step back and ask why you’re transferring miles at all. In most cases, you don’t need to.

If the goal is to get someone on a flight, you can book an award ticket for them directly with your own miles. Delta lets you redeem SkyMiles for anyone as the passenger, at no extra fee and with no need to hand over the miles themselves. That keeps your miles under your control, avoids the transfer entirely, and sidesteps the fact that transferred miles are nonrefundable and don’t count toward Medallion status.

Transferring makes sense in a narrow set of cases, like topping off someone’s balance so they can book an award on their own, consolidating miles within a family, or getting miles into the account of someone who has the Delta TakeOff 15 benefit.

Even then, you’re effectively buying miles at 1 cent each, and we value Delta SkyMiles at 1.2 cents each. The Amex credit softens that cost, but it doesn’t change the underlying logic. For the vast majority of people, booking the flight yourself beats giving the miles away.

Final Thoughts

This is a solid offer if you already had a genuine reason to transfer Delta miles, and getting $330 back is nothing to sneeze at. For most travelers, though, the smarter move is to keep your SkyMiles and book the award ticket yourself while listing that other person as the passenger.

Add the offer if you like, but don’t let a statement credit talk you into a transfer you don’t need.
