Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s low-cost carrier, launched its first U.S. route on April 11, 2025, with service from Santo Domingo (SDQ) to Miami (MIA). The airline plans to expand its U.S. operations in June with new routes to Newark (EWR) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).

Now, Arajet is continuing its U.S. expansion with a newly announced route linking Boston to its hub in Santo Domingo.

Let’s take a look at this new route in detail.

Arajet’s Boston Flights Begin in November

Arajet will begin 4x weekly service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) starting November 20, the airline announced today, May 7, 2025.

Travelers flying from Boston can explore Santo Domingo’s vibrant culture, rich history, beautiful beaches, and renowned cuisine. In addition, beginning June 2, Arajet will fly direct to Punta Cana from Miami (MIA), making it easier and more affordable for U.S. passengers to visit the Dominican Republic.

“The Boston area is home to one of the largest Dominican communities in the U.S. and serves as a key hub for education, business, and tourism,” said Victor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet. “With this addition, Arajet’s presence in major U.S. markets will capture strong demand for low-fare, high-quality service between North America and Latin America, reflecting our commitment to building a bridge between the regions and opening new travel opportunities for both leisure and business travelers.”

The new route will operate direct flights on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Arajet’s modern Boeing 737 MAX fleet. Flights are available for $170 on select dates.

Based in Santo Domingo, Arajet is a new low-cost airline that keeps fares competitive by offering unbundled pricing. The base fare includes a personal item, while carry-on and checked baggage cost additional. Travelers can choose from 3 fare tiers: Smart, Comfort, and Extra.

Final Thoughts

While the Dominican Republic is already well-served by major U.S. airlines, travelers seeking a low-cost option from several major U.S. cities can now consider Arajet.

With an aggressive U.S. expansion planned for later this year, Arajet is poised to become a name you’ll hear much more often.
