Avelo continues to expand its route network, announcing 4 new nonstop routes from Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (HVN) in Connecticut.

The new destinations are in the southeastern part of the U.S. and include Atlanta (ATL), Charlotte-Concord (JQF), Knoxville (TYS), and Destin, Florida (VPS).

“We are excited to offer southern Connecticut residents even more travel options with the addition of Atlanta, Charlotte, Knoxville and Destin. Whether visiting friends and family or enjoying a leisurely vacation, Avelo offers time and money-saving convenience for Connecticut travelers,“ said Andrew Levy, Chairman and CEO at Avelo Airlines.

With these additional flights, Avelo will now service 21 nonstop destinations from Tweed-New Haven (HVN) — more than any other airline in Connecticut.

Let’s look at the timetables for these intriguing new routes from New Haven, which start as soon as May 2, 2024.

Avelo Airlines’ Newest Routes From Tweed-New Haven

When the routes go live, Avelo will be the sole airline providing nonstop service from Tweed-New Haven to each of the new cities.

“With 21 nonstop destinations, including 8 Florida cities, flying from Tweed is easier and more affordable than ever. Additionally, when you consider our industry-leading reliability and caring Soul of Service, it is clear why almost 2 million people have flown Avelo at Tweed since 2021,” continued Levy.

Here are more details on the start dates and frequencies on these New Haven routes:

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL): Begins May 2, operates on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays
  • Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (JQF): Begins May 2, operates on Thursdays and Sundays
  • Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS): Begins May 9, operates on Thursdays and Sundays
  • Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS): Begins May 17, operates on Thursdays and Sundays

At the time of writing, it only appears to be possible to search for availability and book tickets directly through the Avelo website.

Flights will be operated using the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, all of which have economy seats configured in a 3-3 arrangement.

Hot Tip:

Best of all, travelers can change or cancel their Avelo flight online up until 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time!

Final Thoughts

Avelo’s expansion of routes demonstrates the airline’s success in Tweed-New Haven (HVN) since its inaugural flight from the airport in November 2023.

Residents of the southern Connecticut area can now take advantage of Avelo’s expanded flight options to various destinations across the U.S., as well as Puerto Rico.
