Avianca Airlines has recently unveiled a new update to its business class offering, promising an enhanced experience for its esteemed passengers.

Colombia’s flag carrier is set to unveil an innovative menu created by a revered chef, along with upgraded amenity kits for business class passengers on specific routes served by their Boeing 787 and Airbus A320 aircraft. Additionally, they will be introducing a new name for their top-tier premium offering.

Here’s more information about Avianca’s refreshed business class, which you can enjoy on your next flight.

Business Class Refresh on Avianca

New Name for Avianca’s Best Business Class

A few changes can lead to a significant transformation when it comes to rebranding. Avianca’s refreshed business class cabin on its twin-aisle Boeing 787, featuring reverse herringbone seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, will now be known as Avianca Insignia.

Although the name may be different, the actual hard product remains unchanged. Passengers flying in business class on routes to and from Europe will still enjoy the luxury of lie-flat seats, indulge in delicious dining options, and have access to a wide range of snacks and beverages, including a selection of spirits, hot drinks, and cold drinks.

In addition, passengers will be offered a range of comfort amenities, such as a blanket, a mattress pad, and a brand-new amenity kit (more on this later).

Updated Business Class Menu

Colombian-born chef Álvaro Clavijo, who is regarded as one of the top 35 chefs in the world, was responsible for curating and preparing the new menu for aircraft departing from Bogotá and heading to Europe.

The specifics of what these new menu items will comprise are still limited, but we do know that Chef Clavijo comes from some of the greatest kitchens. He spent time at some of the most renowned restaurants in the world, including Per Se, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, and Noma, among others.

New Amenity Kits and Products

Avianca has recently unveiled new amenity kits for passengers traveling in the business class cabin of its Boeing 787 aircraft on routes connecting its hub in Bogota with various destinations in Europe.

The amenity kit includes formulations from Loto del Sur, a beauty brand, as well as a collectible case that Mola Sasa created in collaboration with the Gunadule indigenous community.

The case is made from recycled PET bottle fabric, adding an eco-friendly touch to the kit. The airline is deeply committed to promoting sustainability and inclusion, and this beauty brand perfectly aligns with those initiatives. It also highlights the incredible talent of Colombian artisans, showcasing the country’s rich cultural diversity through its work.

Hot Tip:

Beginning July 1, Avianca’s Airbus A320 family of aircraft will provide business class customers with inflight amenities equivalent to those of the Boeing 787. On select flights from Bogotá to 11 cities, including Santiago de Chile, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Washington, New York, Boston, Toronto, and Mexico City, premium passengers can enjoy meals, drinks, snacks, and comfort amenities such as blankets, pillows, and amenity kits.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re in business class on Avianca’s Boeing 787 to Europe or its Airbus A320 on select routes in the Americas, you’ll have an upgraded business class experience.

While these enhancements are welcome to improve the passenger experience onboard Avianca’s premium cabins, we’re left wondering how tasty the inflight meals will be with a highly regarded chef in charge. We can’t wait to find out!
