Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Never has it been more tempting to head down to Cancun thanks to these one-way redemptions from just 7,300 Miles and $46 in taxes and fees.

There’s wide open availability for these Saver Awards starting as soon as October 8, 2023, through March 5, 2024 — perfect timing for some winter sunshine.

Let’s take a look in more detail to see if this award deal might work for you.

Award Deal — Details

The airline whose Polaris business class redemption availability is notoriously difficult to find is redeeming itself with these great value award fares from Houston to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

  • Class: Economy
  • Route: Houston (IAH) to Cancun (CUN)
  • Flight Number: UA1114
  • Cost: 7,300 MileagePlus Miles + $46
  • Travel Dates: October 2023 through March 2024

For once, you don’t have to be super flexible with your dates, as United has released availability on many dates from October 8, 2023, through March 5, 2024.

You can easily find the availability yourself by logging into your United MileagePlus account and using the handy 30-day calendar view.

There’s equally excellent availability for the return leg, which means, unfortunately for you, that there’s no chance of being stranded in Mexico. Note that the taxes and fees are just under $20 more expensive at $64.

You’ll also notice that there’s wide-open business class availability, though, for 35k Miles each way, you wouldn’t be getting the best value for your miles here. The main reason for this is that the Boeing 737-9 MAX jet that operates this route is comprised of United’s domestic business class seats that don’t recline fully flat.

Hot Tip:

If you’re short of United Miles but this is the kind of deal you’d love to snap up, there is a ton of ways you can start building yourself up a stash of them. For example, The United Club℠ Infinite Card (best suited to frequent United flyers) would earn 4 miles per $1 spent on United travel plus 2 miles per $2 spent on all other travel!

Final Thoughts

If you live in or near Houston and are looking for a beach vacation to escape the upcoming autumn and winter weather, United’s 7,300-mile award redemptions to Cancun might be the perfect option for you. Vamos a la playa!
