Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Finding business class award seats to New Zealand is nearly impossible, especially since so few airlines operate flights from the U.S.

Fortunately for you, we just found seats in business class to Auckland, flying with Air New Zealand — which makes this alert even more impressive, considering how infrequently this airline releases award space to partners. Seats are available for a relatively low 75,000 points per person. There are a lot of seats available in economy class too, for 50,000 points per person, one-way.

Let’s take a look at the details so you can book before these seats disappear.

Award Deal — Details

With this deal, you’ll be flying with Air New Zealand and booking through Air Canada’s Aeroplan program. Nonstop routes are available from 3 airports in the western half of the U.S. However, you’ll need to travel soon.

  • Class: Economy and business
  • Route: Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Houston (IAH) to Auckland (AKL)
  • Cost: From 50,000 points plus $91 per passenger, one-way, in economy; or 75,000 points plus $91 per passenger, one-way, in business
  • Travel Dates: April, May, June 2025
  • Award Seats: Up to 9 passengers on some dates in economy; up to 2 in business

The easiest way to find these flights is by searching on Seats.aero. Here, you can compare multiple dates and routes at once.

Booking through Air Canada’s Aeroplan loyalty program, allows you to fly Air New Zealand business class for just 75,000 points, which is a great deal compared to economy class for 50,000 points. Taxes and fees are reasonable at CA$129 (roughly $91) per passenger, and they are the same in either class.

We’re seeing up to 2 seats available for these flights on some dates in business class, while in economy class we’ve seen up to 9 available.

Air New Zealand also flies from New York, Honolulu, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Its flights from San Francisco are served with the Boeing 787-9, while Houston and Los Angeles are both served with the 777-300ER. Both models have the same business class seat.

How To Book

You’ll redeem Aeroplan points to book these flights. Luckily, earning Aeroplan points is really easy, thanks to its numerous transfer partners and co-branded credit cards.

You can transfer points to Aeroplan from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Marriott Bonvoy. Transfers from all of these programs are 1:1, except for the 3:1 transfers from Marriott Bonvoy to Aeroplan.

Final Thoughts

This is a rare deal to fly in style to New Zealand — not only for the price and availability but also because there’s availability to book Air New Zealand business class through a partner program.

Unfortunately, only those who can travel in April, May or June will be able to take advantage of this relatively low price in points. If you can, however, you should jump on it quickly.
