Barclays has quietly removed its lineup of American Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines credit cards from its website.

This move came on the same day — October 1, 2025 — that HawaiianMiles officially integrated into Alaska Airlines’ unified Atmos Rewards program. Meanwhile, Barclays will stop issuing AA credit cards next year, as Citi is set to become the airline’s exclusive domestic issuer by 2026.

Here’s what you need to know about these developments — and how you can still get some of these cards in the meantime.

Barclays Removes AA and Hawaiian Cards From Its Website

New applicants can no longer apply for Barclays’ co-branded credit cards with American Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines directly on the Barclays website. That’s the big picture.

The removed cards include the AAdvantage® Aviator® Red World Elite Mastercard, Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard®, and the Hawaiian Airlines® Business Mastercard®.

Direct application links for the first 2 credit cards now return a 404 error, while the Hawaiian Airlines Business card link redirects to the main Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards landing page.

Putting This Move Into Context

In late 2024, Citi announced it would become the exclusive issuer of American Airlines’ co-branded credit cards, extending its 37-year partnership. Existing Barclays cardholders will transition to Citi accounts in 2026.

Meanwhile, as of October 1, 2025, HawaiianMiles has officially merged into the Atmos Rewards program, with members seeing their balances converted 1:1 into Atmos Rewards points and receiving new loyalty numbers, among other changes.

Current Barclays Hawaiian Airlines cardholders can keep using their cards with existing benefits as they always have, even though the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite card and Hawaiian Airlines Business card aren’t taking applications from Barclays’ website. That said, you can still get a Hawaiian Airlines credit card.

How You Can Still Get a Hawaiian Airlines Credit Card

Barclays has confirmed that it is no longer accepting applications for the AAdvantage Aviator Red card. Existing cardholders can continue using their cards as normal until these cards convert to Citi credit cards next year.

However, the Hawaiian Airlines® Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard is still available. You can apply for the card inflight on a Hawaiian Airlines flight or through the Bank of Hawaii.

Final Thoughts

Neither American Airlines nor Hawaiian Airlines cards issued by Barclays are available on the website. The AAdvantage Aviator Red card has stopped taking applications, and that’s unlikely to change with the card’s impending move from Barclays to Citi. What Citi will do with these cards remains to be seen.

The Hawaiian Airlines credit cards aren’t closing or shifting to a different card issuer. While they’re not available for applications on Barclays’ website right now, we can confirm that the Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii card is still available through Bank of Hawaii and inflight applications.
