Beond, a Maldivian airline based in the capital of the Maldives, Malé, is taking its in-flight experience to new heights.

It was announced on Thursday that select passengers will be able to use an Apple Vision Pro during their Beond flight to and from the the Maldives starting on July 2024.

“The Apple Vision Pro will transform the inflight entertainment experience, and we will be first to offer it to select passengers,” said Tero Tasklia, chairman and CEO at Beond.

Here’s more on what passengers can expect onboard Beond flights this summer.

Beond Will Offer Immersive Maldivian Experience Before Arrival

Creating memorable experiences is at the core of what Beond aims to deliver for its passengers, from exceptional service to delicious food and innovative IFE.

Making sure that’s the case, Beond will soon provide an immersive onboard experience with the introduction of the Apple Vision Pro.

The headsets, which retail for $3,499, will feature unique content curated especially for Beond, showcasing some of the best resorts and experiences the Maldives offers.

“The inflight experience will build anticipation for passengers before they arrive in the Maldives,” said Taskila.

While it’s not clear exactly which passengers will get access to the Apple Vision Pros, we’d expect it to be those flying Opulence class — the most expensive of Beond’s 3 fare types.

The rollout of the in-flight Apple Vision Pro experience coincides with the inauguration of the airline’s second aircraft and its 3 new routes.

Beond, a start-up airline with fierce competition, is aware that it won’t be making waves in the skies, so part of its strategy to differentiate itself from the competition is delivering novel onboard experiences like the Apple Vision Pro.

“Offering the Apple Vision Pro is another step in our vision of delivering a premium travel experience to our customers, from the start to finish of their journey,” said Taskila.

Hot Tip:

Beond is a start-up luxury leisure airline that plans to ferry passengers from destinations all over the world to its base in the Maldives. Here’s a look inside Beond’s Airbus A319 with just 44 lie-flat seats.

Final Thoughts

For an airline that isn’t even a year old, Beond is already standing out from the crowd with its bespoke luxury leisure offering, its unique route network, and now the introduction of first-of-its-kind inflight experience with the Apple Vision Pro.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for Beond.
