Offering free flights is a surefire way to get attention.

BermudAir’s promotion advertising free flights to Bermuda when booking a trip via the airline’s holiday booking platform certainly pricked our ears.

We investigated this deal to see if the flights are really free. Here’s what we found.

Is BermudAir Really Offering Free Flights?

This promotional offer is valid for bookings made by December 6 for travel between December 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, and only on departures from 3 New York-area airports: La Guardia (LGA), Newark (EWR), and Westchester (HVN). To check just how free the flights are, I tested 2 package options for 2 travelers each: 4 nights at the Rosewood in February and the Royal Palm in January.

Option 1: Flying From La Guardia and Staying at The Rosewood

I thought I’d try out The Rosewood Bermuda. If the flights are “free”, then why not go with one of the nicest hotels on the archipelago?

The package for 2 people, including return flights from La Guardia to Bermuda and 4 nights at the Rosewood, cost $3,274. I thought that was reasonable, but at this point, I had nothing to compare it to.

When I clicked “continue to checkout,” an error message stated that the offer was no longer available. The page refreshed, and I was shown a new price of $3,702.

To check if the flights were truly free, I searched the prices for a 4-night stay at the Rosewood and the return flights for 2 people when booking separately.

Hot Tip:

Holders of some American Express credit cards can use the Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts booking portal to book luxury hotels like The Rosewood Bermuda. Benefits of doing so include earning bonus points on the booking, as well as hotel perks like room upgrades (when available), free breakfasts, late checkouts, and more.

Booking directly via the Rosewood website, a 4-night stay in the same Harbour View King Room for the same dates comes to a total of $2,586. With $1,200 still to play with, I was sure it would be cheaper to book separately.

Then, I checked the price of the flights with BermudAir. To compare like-for-like, I selected BermudAir’s “Economy Max” fare, which includes a checked bag of up to 50 pounds — the same fare included when booking a package deal with BermudAir Holidays.

The flights for 2 people came to $1,196.

So, booking a stay at the Rosewood and flights with BermudAir separately (using the dates from my example) would total $3,782. That’s only $80 more expensive than BermudAir’s package with supposedly free flights. With flights costing $1,200 on these dates, that’s a pretty big difference in price between free and paying full fare.

Let’s take a look at another example.

Option 2: Flying From Newark, Staying at the Royal Palm Hotel in January

For the next example, I checked out the opposite end of the hotel scale: a 3-night stay at the 3-star Royal Palm Hotels, this time flying from Newark.

Booking the package with BermudAir Holidays for 2 people works out to $1,294.

If booking separately, the flights alone come to $1,136.

And booking directly with the Royal Palms Hotel for 3 nights would cost $1,172.

In this example, booking the package with BerumdAir Holidays would save $1,014 — nearly the full cost of the flights. That represents a 44% discount, considering the total cost of booking separately would $2,308. Great deal, BermudAir.

Hot Tip:

When booking a package deal, like this offer of BermudAir flights and 3 nights at a 3-star hotel in Bermuda, we recommend booking using a travel rewards credit card.

Final Thoughts

The offer of free flights is a great way to capture the attention of bargain-hunting travelers like us here at Upgraded Points. After checking out a pair of examples, I discovered that not all of the packages bookable through BermudAir Holidays are guaranteed to provide big discounts.

That said, when the offer does come through on its promise, there are considerable savings to be had. Let this be a reminder to always do your due diligence before being carried away with the offer of getting something for free — especially in travel.

If you find something that works, make sure to book by December 6.
