BWH Hotels, the parent company of Best Western, is now WorldHotels. The Phoenix-based company announced its rebrand today, October 27, 2026, bringing more than 4,000 hotels and 18 brands under a single umbrella.

For points collectors, the upcoming changes to the loyalty program will prove more interesting.

Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards will merge into a single program called WorldHotels Rewards, launching on January 5, 2027. Points still won’t expire, and members will keep the value of the points they already have.

Full program details, including tier names, earning rates, and redemption rates, will be announced in a few weeks, coming on November 16. Here’s what we know so far.

BWH Hotels Is Now WorldHotels

WorldHotels is now the umbrella for the company’s portfolio. That hotel portfolio covers more than 100 countries and ranges from luxury and boutique hotels to extended-stay and economy properties.

Individual hotel brands aren’t going anywhere. Best Western, SureStay, Aiden, and the company’s other brands will keep their names, identities, and signage. A Best Western Plus will still look like a Best Western Plus.

CEO Larry Cuculic said in a press release that the company’s research showed that “many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio.” The rebrand is meant to fix that by tying the brands, loyalty program, and digital tools together under a single name.

It also feels like a move meant to help customers know the portfolio has more than just budget properties — something the Best Western name is known for.

The new WorldHotels website is live today. A redesigned app and full web integration will follow on January 5, 2027.

WorldHotels Rewards: What We Know

The new loyalty program will combine roughly 70 million members from Best Western Rewards and the current WorldHotels Rewards program.

The biggest structural change is the tier system. Presently, Best Western Rewards has 5 tiers: Blue, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond Select. WorldHotels Rewards will have 3. The company hasn’t said yet how the current tiers will map to the new ones.

WorldHotels has confirmed that these features will carry over to the new program:

  • Points that never expire
  • Status matching
  • Member rates
  • Pay with Points, letting members use points for discounted or free nights
  • The value of points members have already earned

A spokesperson also told us the new program will add more ways for members to earn points across the portfolio, though specifics haven’t been shared yet. Those are coming in November.

Members will keep their current elite status tiers during the transition. On December 14, 2026, they’ll learn which new tier they’ll move into.

Key Dates for the Transition

  • October 27, 2026: The WorldHotels rebrand is announced, and the new website goes live.
  • November 16, 2026: The full WorldHotels Rewards program details will be announced.
  • December 14, 2026: Members will learn their new tier.
  • January 5, 2027: WorldHotels Rewards will launches, and the redesigned app will roll out.
  • January 2027: Best Western Rewards credit cards will become WorldHotels Visa Signature credit cards.

What Happens to the Best Western Credit Cards?

The Best Western Rewards Visa Signature cards will change names to WorldHotels Visa Signature cards in January 2027. According to WorldHotels, the cards will keep the same benefits, including fast-track elite status.

Partnerships aren’t changing during this process. Earning, redeeming, and exchanging points with Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards partners will remain unchanged after the switch.

Changes to the Hotel Portfolio

The company’s luxury and upscale hotel brands now fall under WorldHotels Collection, a platform for independent properties that includes 6 categories:

  • WorldHotels Luxury
  • WorldHotels Elite
  • WorldHotels Distinctive
  • WorldHotels Crafted
  • WorldHotels Backdrop
  • WorldHotels Residences

WorldHotels Residences pairs private homeownership with hotel services, while WorldHotels Backdrop focuses on upscale stays in nature-focused destinations.

However, 2 brands are on their way out. WorldHotels is simplifying its portfolio, so Sadie has been retired, and hotels under the Vīb brand are moving to Aiden.

What’s Still To Come With WorldHotels?

Many of the details members care about most will arrive on November 16, 2026, including:

  • New tier names and qualification requirements for elite status
  • How current elite tiers will map to the new structure
  • Earning and redemption rates for WorldHotels Rewards points
  • Details on the new earning opportunities
  • How current WorldHotels Rewards members will transition into the new program

We’ll cover the full program once it’s announced.

What Members Should Do Now

Nothing is changing right now, other than some marketing terms. Keep earning and redeeming points as you have been.

There’s no need to rush to burn your points stash or book hotels in the face of an imminent devaluation. WorldHotels says existing points will keep their value and still won’t expire. However, you should circle December 14 on your calendar. That’s when you’ll learn your new elite status tier.

Final Thoughts

Renaming the parent company is mostly a branding move. The loyalty program overhaul is the part members will actually care about, as brands sometimes hide devaluations and departing benefits behind these changes.

Going from 5 tiers to 3 tiers could help or hurt your elite member, depending on where the thresholds and benefits land. How that works won’t be clear until November 16. The early commitments are encouraging, though: Points keep their value, they still don’t expire, and the program’s customer-friendly status match is staying.
