If you want to visit the southernmost point in the continental U.S. and don’t like the traffic jams on U.S. 1, flying is an option. Starting this summer, Breeze Airways will join the list of options to get you there.

Breeze is making Key West International Airport (EYW) its 10th destination in Florida and 70th destination overall, starting service from 2 locations in Florida: Orlando and Tampa.

Here’s what you should know about Breeze’s newest destination.

Breeze Airways To Start Flying to Key West, Florida

Currently, you can fly to Key West (EYW) with all 3 of the U.S. “big 3” airlines: American, Delta, and United. From locations within Florida, you also can fly with regional carrier Silver Airways, though it’s been canceling flights and acting erratically as it goes through bankruptcy.

Enter Breeze Airways, which will now fly the same routes Silver Airways has been offering — a smart idea, as it may be seen as the more reliable option for these flights.

Breeze will start flying to Key West from both Tampa (TPA) and Orlando (MCO) on June 12, 2025. Flights will operate 4 days per week: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

“We’re excited to extend our service within the Sunshine State with the addition of new service to Key West,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, adding that the airline is “confident this will be a very popular addition to Breeze’s national network.”

Hot Tip:

You’ll earn between 1x and 5x BreezePoints per $1 spent on flights, depending on the fare bundle you book. Fare types that include checked luggage and choosing your own seat earn points at a higher rate. You also can earn BreezePoints with the airline’s credit card, issued by Barclays.

Other Florida News From Breeze Airways

In addition to new routes to Key West, Breeze has more news for the Sunshine State.

Starting on June 5, Breeze will fly between Tampa (TPA) and Pensacola (PNS) twice as often, increasing the route from 2x to 4x per week. Flights will now operate on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday — the same days as flights to Key West, which could make for a convenient connection.

Final Thoughts

Breeze Airways has announced its 70th destination, which will be its 10th location in Florida: Key West. Rather than flying routes that are already crowded, the airline will fly from 2 Florida airports currently served by only 1 airline, which is a regional carrier going through bankruptcy and flight cancellations.

This may be a smart move for Breeze, cutting in on Silver Airways’ turf. Additionally, Breeze will start operating additional flights in Florida this summer, betting big on the Sunshine State.
