Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

For a limited time, British Airways Club members can multiply the Avios they earned in 2024 by 1x, 2x, 3x, or even 4x, all at a discounted rate.

This is great timing for anyone who needs to buy some Avios for award tickets in 2025.

The offer runs through Sunday, February 2, 2025. Here are the details about the British Airways Avios boost promotion.

British Airways New Balance Booster Promotion

In June 2023, British Airways introduced Balance Booster, a new way of purchasing bonus Avios. This offer is exclusive to British Airways Club members, and you can buy double, triple, or quadruple the Avios earned in the past 30 days.

Now, there’s a new offer to use Balance Booster to purchase every single unboosted Avios earned in 2024, but is it worth it?

If you have any eligible transactions, they’ll be displayed on the left side, and you can choose which to boost. Here, there are 2 eligible transactions for a total of 131,506 eligible Avios.

The most interesting aspect here is that a transfer from Amex Membership Rewards is an eligible transaction.

This person has 4 options to boost the Avios by 100%, 200%, 300%, or 400%. The price for each Avios here ranges from 1.22 to 1.67 cents per Avios, with the 200% option having the cheapest per-Avios price.

We value British Airways Avios at 1.25 cents, which means 2 of these 4 offers cost more than what Avios are typically worth. It’s only worth purchasing if you know you’ll redeem your Avios at higher values than that.

It’s also possible to earn Avios on Airbnb stays, and this was an eligible transaction for another member of our team. Those 942 Avios can be multiplied by up to 400% for prices ranging from 1.2 to 1.25 cents per Avios — better pricing than the offers above.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

Buying airline miles usually costs more than the miles are worth, but this isn’t the case for some elements of BA’s current promotion.

Opportunities like this don’t come around often. If you’ve got the spare cash, it could be worth snapping up this deal if you see a good price for multiplying your Avios — assuming you have qualifying transactions from 2024.
